Police Lieutenant Colonel Surrenders, Denies Harassing Female Server Authorities Investigate Incident in Kanchanaburi

A police lieutenant colonel surrendered and denied groping a female server at a barbecue pork restaurant in Kanchanaburi. Police are urgently investigating the facts, gathering evidence, and ensuring fairness to all parties involved.  The incident drew immediate police attention.

On 22 May 2026 at 10:30 a.m., reporters reported that a police lieutenant colonel was accused of touching the private parts of a female server at "Ton Pradu Barbecue Pork" restaurant in Lat Ya Subdistrict, Mueang District, Kanchanaburi Province. The incident occurred on 19 May 2026 and was captured on the restaurant's CCTV. Recently, the lieutenant colonel involved voluntarily appeared before investigators at Lat Ya Police Station. Police Colonel Sitthipong Sangsaeng, the station chief, personally questioned him.

As soon as the lieutenant colonel saw Police Colonel Sitthipong, he immediately greeted him with a wai gesture and tried to explain the situation. Initially, the suspect firmly denied the allegations, claiming he did not commit the act. Police are intensifying their investigation and collecting additional evidence. It is known that there is another CCTV angle that may reveal further behavior and serve as stronger evidence.

Later, Mr. Akkaranan Kankittinan, Deputy Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for Kanchanaburi District 1, visited Lat Ya Police Station to meet Mr. Sirisak Kanakup, the legal advisor to the MP, and Mr. Pongphat Photongkham, a lawyer from the Kanchanaburi Bar Association. They joined the visit to monitor the case’s progress. The station chief reported on the investigation's status and developments.

Mr. Akkaranan said he came today to review the case involving the female employee who is a student working part-time and was violated. He came to offer support to the young woman and praised her courage in defending her rights. He urged her to continue standing firm for justice. After discussions with the police chief and investigators, he requested that the case be handled fairly for all parties, especially since the accused is a government official.

When asked if the accused still denied the charges, Mr. Akkaranan stated that it is the police’s responsibility to gather evidence, particularly from multiple CCTV angles that can clearly prove the facts. “If the accused is found guilty and continues to deny responsibility, decisive action must be taken with no exceptions.”
