One Dead, One Seriously Injured in Methamphetamine Gang Crash After Police Chase 2 Million Pills Found in Vehicle

In Sukhothai, a methamphetamine trafficking gang sped away from police interception before losing control and crashing into a utility pole, resulting in one death and one serious injury. Authorities rushed the injured to hospital and found 2 million methamphetamine pills inside the vehicle.

At 12:00 on 24 May 2026, Lieutenant Anan Saramon, Deputy Inspector (Investigation) of Thung Saliam Police Station in Sukhothai province, received a report of a car losing control and crashing into a roadside utility pole near the checkpoint at Klang Dong subdistrict, Thung Saliam district. There were casualties and injuries, prompting coordination for officers to investigate.

At the scene, a gray sedan with license plate KT-2417 from Nakhon Sawan was found severely damaged, crashed against the utility pole. Inside the vehicle was one deceased person identified by ID card as Mr. Pinnu Sae Heng, 44, from Chainat province, trapped in the wreckage. Another person injured was Mr. Natthanon, 19, from Phitsanulok province, who suffered impact injuries. Rescue personnel promptly provided aid and transported him to hospital.


Upon inspection inside the vehicle, officers found approximately 2 million methamphetamine pills concealed within.

Prior to the crash, an operational unit from Division 3, Narcotics Suppression Bureau, had been tracking a drug trafficking convoy heading into the area and coordinated with additional forces to intercept. The suspects drove at high speed to the Klang Dong checkpoint and attempted to flee but lost control and crashed into the utility pole, causing the reported death and injury.

Initially, Police Colonel Theeranat Metha-Atthapong, Chief of Thung Saliam Police Station, ordered Lieutenant Sanan Butthaya, Investigation Officer, to expedite the investigation, expand inquiries into accomplices, and trace the origin of the seized drugs for prosecution under the law.
