A 15-year-old son addicted to methamphetamine raped his biological mother, saying, "Doing it with mom is free, doing it with others costs money." He has a troubling history of frequently assaulting elderly villagers. The police chief has ordered prosecution on all charges related to the case.
On 27 May 2026, reports emerged on the case where Mrs. Boon (a pseudonym), 46, filed a complaint with Deputy Superintendent Ratchapon Wongwan, Deputy Chief Investigator at Ban Duea Police Station, Kaset Sombun District, Chaiyaphum Province. She reported that on the night of 25 May 2026, her youngest son, Mr. A (a pseudonym), age 15, heavily intoxicated from alcohol and methamphetamine, entered her bedroom where she was lying on the bed. The older brother, also addicted to drugs, was not home at that time.
The incident occurred on the night of 25 May 2026 at around 9:00 p.m. Mrs. Boon, the mother, was alone lying on a mattress in the bedroom. She said she tried to resist and fight Mr. A, but could not overcome her son's strength. Mr. A punched her once on the back, forcing her to give in out of fear he might kill her. Mr. A then raped his mother, achieving sexual gratification once.
Afterward, Mr. A took an old blanket and sheet and went to sleep in front of the house before going to find his older brother to come back home. The older brother returned and slept on the mattress with their mother. Mrs. Boon did not dare to tell her eldest son about the incident, fearing that Mr. A would assault her again. The next morning, 26 May 2026, Mrs. Boon consulted neighbors about being raped by her younger son and then went to report the case at Ban Duea Police Station.
Deputy Superintendent Ratchapon Wongwan, Deputy Chief Investigator at Ban Duea Police Station, together with police officers, went to the scene. Mrs. Boon showed them the bedroom where an old mattress lay on the floor. The house is a dilapidated concrete structure with walls made from plywood and old corrugated iron. The walls had been damaged by the son’s violent acts. The husband had died two years prior. Mrs. Boon lives there with her two sons.
The youngest son, Mr. A, age 15, a juvenile, did not flee. He was taken to show the place where he raped his mother in the bedroom. He recounted that when lying on the mattress near his mother, he became sexually aroused and used his hands to pull her off the mattress, dragging her onto the concrete floor beneath. He said to his mother, "Mom, I want to have sex with you because doing it with others costs money, but with you it’s free," according to his statement to investigators at Ban Duea Police Station.
Mr. A has a troubling history. While in primary school at the village boarding school, he often quarreled with friends and showed no respect for teachers, leading to frequent meetings with village elders and guardians. After completing grade 6, he did not continue his studies and frequently had conflicts with friends in the village, which his parents often heard about.
Last year, an elderly woman in the same village was punched in the stomach by Mr. A while she was walking to make merit at the local temple, causing her to fall. The victim’s relatives reported the assault, but as Mr. A was a juvenile, it was difficult to prosecute. He was only reprimanded and his mother was advised to supervise him closely.
Later, Mr. A began using methamphetamine and brandished a knife, terrorizing neighbors who feared being harmed because they had children living with them. The villagers reached their limit and informed the village headman and relevant authorities. Officials from the Nong Kha Subdistrict Administrative Organization, local health center, and police took action to send him for treatment at Thanyarat Hospital in Khon Kaen. His condition improved, but after returning home, he refused medication and continued his problematic behavior, which seemed to worsen.
Earlier in 2025, Mr. A went to the house of Mr. Prayoon, age 66 (his grandfather), whose property shares a fence with his own. Mr. A asked for money to buy drugs and alcohol. When Mr. Prayoon had no money to give, Mr. A became angry and physically assaulted him, kicking, punching, and beating him until he fell and coughed up blood.
Less than a month later, Mr. A asked Mr. Prayoon’s wife, an elderly woman, for money to buy methamphetamine. When she refused, he punched her chin, causing her to collapse unconscious on the floor at home. Relatives took her to Chalermprakiet Phu Khiao Hospital where she was treated for several weeks. X-rays showed a nearly fractured jaw.
The village headman, unable to tolerate Mr. A’s behavior and fearing harm to neighbors, coordinated with the juvenile detention center in Nakhon Ratchasima Province to take Mr. A for eight months of rehabilitation. He was released from the juvenile detention center on 27 February 2026 and returned to live with his mother. In the evenings, he went out drinking and using drugs with other youths in the village.
Mr. Prayoon, age 66, said he wants police to prosecute Mr. A fully and have him undergo treatment so that the villagers will no longer suffer from his actions.
Mrs. Boon, 46, the mother, pointed out the crime scene and said that besides using drugs, Mr. A also distributed drugs to other youths in the village. On the night of 25 May 2026, when the rape occurred, Mr. A was drunk on both alcohol and methamphetamine. She urged the police to prosecute him thoroughly.
This morning (27 May 2026), Police Major General Sujarit Panlek, Commander of Chaiyaphum Provincial Police, after receiving reports from the Ban Duea Police Station chief, ordered the investigators handling the case to expedite gathering solid evidence. He noted this case involves a child committing a crime against a parent, which deeply affects the victim and the public.
The suspect has been brought for questioning and formally charged according to legal procedures. Mr. A (pseudonym) confessed to forcing himself on his mother. The suspect was taken to juvenile court to request a detention order, as he is only 15 years old.
Police Major General Sujarit Panlek reaffirmed to the public that the prosecution will be conducted thoroughly and swiftly to ensure justice and maximum safety for the victim.
