A deeply tragic event "Father, mother, and child" were found dead in a home in Bang Bua Thong district; neighbors were shocked as they had just seen them eating Thai BBQ together. Initial medical examination estimates they had been dead for about two days.
At 09:39 on 27 May 2026, Pol. Col. Thatsakorn Kontong, Superintendent of Bang Bua Thong Police Station, Nonthaburi, received a report of three deaths inside a residence located in a housing estate in Bang Rak Phatthana Subdistrict, Bang Bua Thong district, Nonthaburi.
Upon inspection of the two-story townhouse, three bodies were found on the second-floor bedroom bed. The deceased were identified as Mr. Narubet Pimwattana, 31, a civil engineer at the Department of Public Works, the father; Mrs. Pornwipa Panitanang, 32, a municipal clerk from Pak Kret, the mother; and their 7-year-old daughter. A lit charcoal brazier was found at the foot of the bed.
Additionally, it was discovered that the woman had messaged a neighbor requesting CCTV footage as evidence to file for divorce, stating: "I want to get CCTV footage as evidence for divorce. I want to separate but he won't agree. I'm tired, brother. We have a marriage certificate but he still won't agree."
A coworker who discovered the bodies reported that they had been unable to contact Mr. Narubet for two days and decided to check his home with police officers from Bang Bua Thong Police Station. They then found the three deceased in the bedroom.
Mr. Sarawut, or Keng, 34, a neighbor, said he last saw the family on Monday. He noted that they came and went regularly for work, sometimes returning late, sometimes early. When they met, they would talk. The husband was quiet and spoke little, while the wife was normal. Around midnight on Sunday, he heard loud noises and crying, but past arguments had not been serious.
After that, on Monday, the house was silent with all vehicles present and no one went out cycling. He became suspicious and had checked the house with a flashlight on the ground floor the day before but saw nothing, so he waited another day. Since missing persons usually have someone searching, a coworker came to check that morning. Shocked, he invited friends to look inside the house. The doors were locked, so he secretly forced entry, but the upstairs bedroom door was locked, so he could not enter and decided to notify the police.
He expressed shock at the incident, saying they were neighbors. Inside, he found the three lying side by side as if sleeping normally. The charcoal brazier was used for Thai BBQ. On Friday, he had seen them eating Thai BBQ together at the outdoor table, appearing in good spirits. However, on Monday, the woman messaged to request CCTV footage to use as evidence for divorce at 8 p.m., but she never came to retrieve it and then disappeared until the bodies were found. The couple usually did not argue harshly, and the family had lived there about three years.
Preliminary autopsy estimates the deaths occurred about two days prior. The bodies were handed over to volunteers from the Poh Teck Tung Foundation to be transported to the Institute of Forensic Science for further examination.
