Police Region 1 Seizes Major Batch of 6.8 Million Methamphetamine Pills, Arrests Four Suspects in Ayutthaya Warehouse

"Big Tong" led the Police Region 1 press conference announcing the arrest of four suspects involved in a drug gang storing a large batch of 6.8 million methamphetamine pills in a warehouse located in Phachi District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. Investigations are ongoing to identify customers, masterminds, and others involved in the drug network.

At 14:00 on 27 May 2026, at the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Police Headquarters, Pol. Lt. Gen. Watthana Yijin, Commander of Police Region 1, Mr. Chuanin Wongsatitjirakarn, Governor of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, Pol. Maj. Gen. Surawut Saengrungreung, Commander of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Police, Pol. Col. Phurithat Khositvanichpong, Deputy Commander, Pol. Col. Sarayut Saengthong, Superintendent of Nakhon Luang Police Station, officers from Police Region 1, and the Office of the Narcotics Control Board Region 1 jointly held a press conference announcing the arrest of four suspects linked to the "Border Runner" drug trafficking network.

The four suspects are: 1. Mr. Theeraphat, aka Tui, 24, from Kud Ta Phet Subdistrict, Lamsanthi District, Lopburi Province; 2. Mr. Somchai, aka Dong, 35, from Kud Ta Phet Subdistrict, Lamsanthi District, Lopburi Province; 3. Mr. Amnat, aka Ak, 35, from Lat Kae Subdistrict, Chon Daen District, Phetchabun Province; and 4. Ms. Nichada, aka Noon, 19, from Lat Kae Subdistrict, Chon Daen District, Phetchabun Province.

Seized evidence includes 6,800,000 methamphetamine pills, two pickup trucks, six mobile phones, a modified firearm, and 51 rounds of ammunition. The suspects were charged with jointly trafficking Category 1 narcotics (methamphetamine) by possessing them for sale with intent to distribute, causing widespread public impact, committing the crime with weapons, possessing firearms and ammunition without authorization, and carrying firearms in public places without permission.

This arrest aligns with the National Police Chief’s policy on drug prevention and suppression to alleviate public distress. Police Region 1 and the Office of the Narcotics Control Board Region 1 collaborated to expand investigations following the arrest of suspects who were transporting drugs to southern regions.

Authorities learned that the suspects had collected drugs from the "Border Runner" network operating in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. This network transports drugs from Phetchabun Province and stores them in a rented warehouse in Village 1, Krachio Subdistrict, Phachi District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, awaiting further distribution to recipients in the central region of the country.

Later, at approximately 23:00 on 26 May 2026, the arrest team stationed near the warehouse to monitor illegal activity observed suspects Theeraphat and Somchai loading drugs into a seized vehicle for delivery. Amnat and Nichada were scouting ahead by car. The team followed them along Suwannason Road (Highway 33) and intercepted them at kilometer marker 52+500 in Bang Rakam Subdistrict, Nakhon Luang District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.

A search of the seized vehicle revealed about 1,000,000 methamphetamine pills. The suspects were then taken to the warehouse for further search, uncovering an additional approximately 5,800,000 pills in the warehouse located in Village 1, Krachio Subdistrict, Phachi District, adjacent to Nakhon Luang District.

This operation successfully prevented a large volume of drugs from reaching the public. The seized drugs, if sold on the market, would be worth over 200 million baht. Investigators will continue to trace customers, masterminds, and others involved in the network, as well as assets linked to the crimes. Measures against conspiracy, support, money laundering, and asset seizure will be applied to those involved in the drug trafficking network.
