Police Spokesperson Clarifies Commander Tai’s Order: No Ban on Officers as Influencers, But Uniforms and Hairstyles Must Be Perfect

The police spokesperson clarified the order from "Big Tai, the Commissioner-General of Police," confirming that police officers are not forbidden from being influencers. On the contrary, it is supported and seen as beneficial for promoting the agency and presenting a good image. However, discipline must be upheld, especially regarding "uniforms and hairstyles," which must be impeccable when appearing in public media to ensure uniformity and order.

Regarding the case where Police General Kittirat Phanphet, Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, issued an urgent letter about appropriate conduct of police officers when wearing uniforms—especially those who are influencers appearing in public media, social media, and influencer groups—emphasizing the importance of maintaining a positive image of the police.

On 27 May 2026 at the Royal Thai Police Headquarters, Police Lieutenant General Trairong Phiwpan, Deputy Inspector-General of the Royal Thai Police and spokesperson for the Royal Thai Police, stated that the Commissioner-General emphasized proper conduct of officers while in uniform. He stressed the need to comply with related regulations and orders to demonstrate discipline and uphold the police's honor, but did not prohibit being influencers.

The Commissioner-General supports all police officers acting as influencers to promote the agency’s positive image and consistently showcase the police’s work.

"However, it must be acknowledged that when wearing uniforms and being recorded for social media, officers must comply strictly with regulations. Being an influencer means they must set a good example, because the most basic discipline for police is proper attire and hairstyle according to regulations. There are more difficult issues, such as conduct to avoid disgrace. Therefore, maintaining discipline regarding the uniform is much easier."
