Bang Bon Police Chief Raids Illegal Organic Cannabis Warehouse, Arrests 7 Vietnamese Workers

The Bang Bon police chief, together with Investigation Unit 9 and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), raided an illegal organic cannabis cultivation warehouse in the Bang Bon area, arresting seven Vietnamese workers for unauthorized cultivation and production of cannabis extracts. Assets valued at nearly 2 million baht were seized.

On 28 May 2026, under the direction of Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, Pol. Lt. Gen. Nopasil Poolsawat, Police Commissioner attached to the Office of the Royal Thai Police Commander, Pol. Maj. Gen. Theeradej Thammasuthi, Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, Pol. Maj. Gen. Pallop Armlao, Deputy Commissioner of the Metropolitan Police Bureau, Pol. Maj. Gen. Samart Promchat, Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 9, Pol. Col. Theerachai Dedkhad, Deputy Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 9, Pol. Col. Naruephon Thanakritanon, Deputy Commander of Metropolitan Police Division 9, Pol. Col. Thitipong Siya, Commander of the Investigation Unit, Metropolitan Police Division 9, Pol. Col. Thanameth Wijitchariya, Chief of Bang Bon Police Station, and officers from the Narcotics Control Division of the FDA jointly conducted a raid on a factory in Bang Bon 4 Soi 6, Bang Bon Nuea Subdistrict, Bang Bon District, Bangkok, on 27 May. This followed intelligence that cannabis was being illegally cultivated and extracts produced using a Thai company as a front or nominee, with illegal foreign labor employed.




Authorities arrested Mr. Nguyen Doan Trinh, 31, Mr. Tran Ngoc Phong, 52, Mr. Ho Ngoc Bang, 47, Mr. Nguyen Huu Son, 45, Mr. Nguyen Dinh Sang, 32, Mr. Viet Huy Luong, 38, and Mr. Binh Duong Dang, 46, all Vietnamese nationals.




Confiscated items included two Lanphan brand freeze-drying machines, three freezers, a hydraulic rosin press, a hot press machine, a powder filtering or sifting machine, a cement and paint mixer, a digital scale, one hydraulic press, one set of drying trays, two black plastic mixing tanks, and 30 bags of hashish weighing a total of 15.874 kilograms.




Pol. Col. Thanameth Wijitchariya, Chief of Bang Bon Police Station, ordered the investigation unit to trace and seize assets suspected to be linked to criminal activity or obtained through illegal means, including one Isuzu MU-X vehicle valued at approximately 1.6 million baht, 60,000 baht in cash, and seven mobile phones valued at about 200,000 baht, totaling around 1.86 million baht.





All suspects confessed and were charged with jointly producing Category 5 narcotics (cannabis extracts) without permission and employing foreigners without work permits. Four illegal foreign workers were also charged. The suspects and seized items were handed over to Bang Bon Police Station investigators for legal proceedings.
