In Udon Thani, police subdued a drug-addicted nephew who stabbed his aunt to death and severely injured his uncle, claiming he intended to kill a "ghost" and not to harm family members. Before the incident, he had taken two methamphetamine pills.
This morning (3 June 2026), reporters reported that in Udon Thani, a drug-addicted nephew stabbed his aunt to death and slashed his uncle’s head, critically injuring him. Mr. Pornchai Phosa-chan, or No, aged 39, under the influence of hallucinogenic drugs, used a sharp knife to stab Ms. Wipawan Chao Phoka, 58, his aunt, who died, and slashed Ms. Napaporn Chao Phoka, 47, his uncle and the wife of the village headman, causing serious injuries while they were eating in front of their house. Neighbors fled in panic before locals and police intervened to detain the suspect and beat him until severely bruised. The incident occurred in front of the village headman’s house in Non Sawan Village, Chiang Yuen Subdistrict, Mueang Udon Thani District.
A video shows police controlling Mr. No inside a house in Mueang District, Udon Thani Province. Mr. No resisted arrest, wielding a slingshot, but before he could fire, police struck his neck with a baton and handcuffed him. He then shook off their grip and fled outside, but police finally tackled and captured him.
After the incident, police took Mr. Pornchai, or No, for first aid at Udon Thani Central Hospital, then transferred him to Huai Luang Subdistrict Police Station to press charges of "intentional homicide and attempted murder." Mr. Pornchai said the victims were his aunt and uncle. He claimed he stabbed them because they were "ghosts" who came to stab him first, so he stabbed them preemptively. After killing his aunt, he said he revived her and that they had no bad karma between them. He also claimed to possess a magical iron stone that makes any knife he holds supernatural.
Mr. No also said that last night he killed nine "ghosts" and that two more remain in the house across the street. He admitted taking two methamphetamine pills before the attack. After killing the ghosts, he said he wanted to apologize to his aunt and uncle because he intended only to kill ghosts, not his family members.
