In Phetchabun, a man caught with three methamphetamine pills worth 100 baht confessed he needed the drug to have the strength to work. Police from Wichian Buri Station arrested him, who clasped his hands in a traditional oath to quit drugs and become a good citizen before being taken for prosecution and rehabilitation.
On 4 June 2026, reporters learned that police officers from Wichian Buri Station received a report of a group of men using illegal drugs in Khok Prong Subdistrict, Wichian Buri District, Phetchabun Province. They collaborated with local security officials and a special operations team from Khok Prong Subdistrict to conduct a raid. They arrested five individuals: one drug user, one person found with two pills in possession, and three who tested positive for drugs via urine test. All were taken to Wichian Buri Police Station.
During questioning, one of the drug users admitted purchasing three methamphetamine pills for 100 baht to use while working, saying he lacked energy and could not work without the drug. However, he was caught before he could use them.
Police then had the drug user swear an oath to avoid all involvement with drugs, to quit all harmful habits, and to become a good member of society. He was warned that if he broke this oath, he would face serious consequences within three to four days. Following this, he was taken for legal proceedings and entered a rehabilitation program.
