A young man was found dead under mysterious circumstances in a friend’s house in Nonthaburi after his mother appealed to the Mirror Foundation for help in locating him. His last message was revealed, while CCTV footage showed the homeowner riding away three days earlier.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Suriya Pholchuu, investigating officer at Bang Bua Thong Police Station in Nonthaburi, received a report of a deceased person found in a house in Village No. 6, Bang Rak Phatthana Subdistrict, Bang Bua Thong District, Nonthaburi. The report came at 8 p.m. on 4 June 2026. He notified superiors and, together with Police Colonel Thatthakorn Kontong, chief of Bang Bua Thong Police Station, Deputy Superintendent Kamonrat Panoi, and other officials including forensic doctors and rescue volunteers from Poh Teck Tung Foundation, proceeded to the scene.
The scene was a two-story townhouse. Initially, the house was locked at two points: the front gate and the entrance door. A strong putrid odor was detected inside. Officers decided to cut the locks to inspect. On the second-floor staircase landing, they found the body of a man later identified as Sakdinnont Pornfahmetta, 28 years old. The corpse was severely dehydrated with skin clinging to bones, indicating death several days prior. The deceased wore a black jacket over a black tank top and black jeans. A mobile phone was placed beside his head.
Preliminary inquiries with neighbors across the street revealed they saw the deceased arrive at the house about five to six days earlier. They remembered because he was slim, tall, had long hair, wore black clothes, and took a motorbike taxi to the house front. They did not observe whether he entered the house. Later, a foul smell became noticeable, prompting them and a rescue volunteer sibling to investigate. The sibling confirmed it likely was a corpse smell and alerted authorities. The homeowner had been missing for about three days and usually had male friends frequently visit.
Police Colonel Thatthakorn Kontong, chief of Bang Bua Thong Police Station, stated the deceased was local with relatives who had filed a missing person report at the station. He was a 28-year-old youth believed to be the same individual found dead. The victim likely came to visit the suspected homeowner. The exact reason remains unknown. CCTV showed the suspect, the homeowner, last seen on 2 June 2026 before leaving and becoming unreachable.
Regarding whether the homeowner was responsible for the death, it depends on whether the death was natural or homicide. Currently, no conclusions can be drawn because the body’s condition has deteriorated significantly, with death estimated about seven days ago. The victim probably arrived at the house on 26 May 2026 before losing contact.
Reviewing CCTV from neighbors opposite the house showed that at 6:19 a.m. on 2 June 2026, the homeowner came out, opened the front gate, rode a red motorcycle out and parked in front of the house, then closed the gate and left on the motorcycle.
Meanwhile, the Mirror Foundation received a report from Sakdinnont’s mother stating her son had been missing since Tuesday, 26 May 2026. The last known location was when he went to visit a friend in the village opposite Wat Lat Pla Duk on Pruksa 3 Road in the early morning of 27 May. He tried calling his mother seven times and sent messages asking her to arrange a ride home. She was asleep and did not see the messages until morning. When she tried calling back, he did not answer, and his phone was later switched off. She then sought help from the Mirror Foundation, leading to the discovery of his body in the house where the homeowner was missing.
This morning (5 June 2026), Police Lieutenant Colonel Suriya Pholchuu, investigating officer, said police had photographed and collected evidence at the scene, including the mobile phone and personal belongings. Two witnesses have been questioned. The victim’s mother will travel from Chiang Mai today to provide a statement to the police.
No summons or arrest warrants have been issued yet, as authorities await the official autopsy results to determine the true cause of death.
