Cyber Police Raid Major Online E-Cigarette Seller in Kanchanaburi, Arrest Packaging Staff, Expand Network Investigation

Cyber police raided a major online e-cigarette sales operation in Kanchanaburi province, seizing various items valued at over 3 million baht. The haul included numerous confiscated items related to e-cigarettes.

On 5 June 2026, Pol. Lt. Gen. Surapol Prembutr, Commander of the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau, along with Pol. Lt. Gen. Naradet Thiprak, Commander assigned to the Royal Thai Police Office, ordered Pol. Maj. Gen. Sarayut Junnawat, Commander of Cyber Crime Investigation Division 2, and senior officers including Pol. Col. Chairat Waruno, Deputy Commander of Division 2, and other commanders from Division 2 and Kanchanaburi Police to conduct the operation.

They coordinated a search warrant from the Kanchanaburi Provincial Court No. 394/2569 to raid a house in Village 10, Pak Phraek Subdistrict, Mueang District, Kanchanaburi Province. They arrested Mr. Chanwit or Sit Sawattham, 29, a local resident, and seized disposable e-cigarettes and e-liquid pods for pod devices from four brands, packed in 56 large cardboard boxes totaling 11,305 pieces, valued at over 3 million baht.

This large seizure and arrest followed an investigation by Pol. Lt. Col. Jirawat Buringam, Deputy Commander of Division 4, Cyber Crime Investigation Division 2, and his team. They discovered a LINE account named “korn” posting images of various brands of e-cigarettes and e-liquids for sale, including Marbo, Esko Bar, Roca, and Ibro, offering various flavors in both disposable and refill pod types priced between 150 and 350 baht per piece. Interested buyers were invited to contact the seller via the LINE app, which is illegal due to the sale of prohibited goods such as e-cigarettes and e-liquids.

Further investigation revealed the online e-cigarette seller had been operating as a major distributor in Kanchanaburi for over two years. The operation involved packing e-cigarettes into parcels and shipping them nationwide according to customer orders via a local private courier company. The seller frequently changed storage locations to evade detection and reduce the risk of police arrest. Monthly shipments averaged several thousand units, with monthly bank transfers from customers exceeding one million baht.

Authorities then conducted a targeted search at the suspected storage location inside a village in central Kanchanaburi. After gathering sufficient evidence, they obtained a court search warrant and carried out the raid, arresting the offender and confiscating all seized items.

During interrogation, Mr. Chanwit admitted he was only an employee responsible for packing e-cigarettes and preparing shipments according to LINE orders for over five months. He received a monthly salary of 20,000 to 25,000 baht from his employer. Police are now expanding the investigation to identify other individuals involved in this network.

The suspects are being prosecuted for selling or providing e-cigarettes and refill liquids in violation of the Consumer Protection Act (No. 4) B.E. 2562 (2019), aiding and abetting the concealment, sale, or possession of goods imported without customs clearance under Section 246 paragraph one of the Customs Act B.E. 2560 (2017), and possession of goods with incomplete or unpaid excise taxes under Section 203(1) of the Excise Act B.E. 2560. The suspect and seized items have been handed over to the Kanchanaburi police for legal proceedings.
