Cyber Unit Raids Online Gambling Office in Bangsaen with Over 50 Million Baht Turnover, Suspects Destroy Evidence by Throwing Computers from Condo

The Cyber Unit of Region 2 Police raided an online gambling office in the Bangsaen area, seizing numerous pieces of evidence. They found that the operation had a turnover exceeding 50 million baht. Two suspects tried to destroy evidence by throwing computer equipment and mobile phones from the eighth floor of a condominium.

On 6 June 2026, under the command of Pol. Maj. Gen. Kiattisak Sarathongoi, Commander of the Investigation Division, Region 2, authorities intensified efforts to combat technology-related crime. This followed investigations that uncovered a major online gambling network operating illegally in Chonburi province.

Subsequently, Pol. Col. Theerasak Osatanon, Superintendent of Investigation Division 3, Region 2, along with Pol. Lt. Col. Nathakorn Chanlod, Deputy Superintendent of the same division, led a team from the Cyber Crime Suppression Unit of Region 2 to search a condominium unit in the Bangsaen area, Saensuk Subdistrict, Mueang District, Chonburi. They had intelligence that the unit was being used as an office for running an online gambling website.

During the search, they arrested Mr. Akkamon Liamthonglang, 26, and Mr. Attachai Julnan, 32, the suspects. Evidence seized included computers, laptops, mobile phones, communication devices, and dozens of related items. While being arrested, the suspects attempted to destroy evidence by throwing multiple computers and mobile phones from the eighth floor of the condominium, causing damage to a civilian's vehicle below.

Initial investigations revealed that this network had more than 50 million baht flowing through its accounts. Authorities have detained the suspects along with the seized items and handed them over to investigators for legal proceedings. They are also examining digital data, financial transactions, and account connections to quickly expand the investigation toward the masterminds, system administrators, money mules, and the entire related network.

Region 2 Police warned the public that as the FIFA World Cup approaches, online gambling networks often exploit the event's popularity to advertise and lure people into betting, including predicting match outcomes, score wagers, individual game bets, or various promotions. This can lead to financial losses, debts, and family problems.

They emphasized that the World Cup should be enjoyed as a sport, not a gambling event. Police reaffirmed their commitment to continuously investigate, expand, and suppress all forms of online gambling networks. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious activities to the police immediately.
