
Investigation teams from Region 1, Pathum Thani Provincial Police, and Lat Lum Kaeo Police Station have arrested the suspect who brutally killed a female broker assisting foreign workers by striking her head with a hammer. The Region 1 Police Commander is scheduled to hold a press conference tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.
The case dates back to 23:40 on 6 June 2026, when Mrs. Thinnawai Mawin, known as "Ae," a 43-year-old Myanmar national who worked as a broker helping Burmese workers find jobs, was found dead. The suspect used a hammer to strike her head and body multiple times. She was discovered lying in her bedroom at a residence behind the Islamic Education Promotion Foundation in Village No. 3, Na Mai Subdistrict, Lat Lum Kaeo District, Pathum Thani Province. She was wearing a sarong but no shirt, with a towel tied around her neck. Police suspected the perpetrator was someone close to her, as previously reported.
The latest update, as of the evening of 8 June 2026, is that the investigative teams from Region 1, Pathum Thani Provincial Police, and Lat Lum Kaeo Police Station have relentlessly pursued the suspect. After reviewing CCTV footage identifying a suspicious man, they tracked him down in Suphan Buri Province. The suspect was brought to Lat Lum Kaeo Police Station for questioning with the help of a Burmese-speaking interpreter.
The suspect was identified as Mr. Nai Leng, 50 years old. Initially, he confessed to the murder of Mrs. Thinnawai Mawin. Details and motives behind the crime have not yet been disclosed. Superintendent Dusadee Hirunrat, Chief of Lat Lum Kaeo Police Station, stated that on 9 June 2026 at 10:00 a.m., Police Lieutenant General Watthana Yi-jeen, Commander of Region 1 Police, and Police Major General Peeraphon Chotiksethien, Chief of Pathum Thani Provincial Police, will personally hold a press conference to provide further information.
