Aunt Khayan Forgives the Person Who Returned the Confusing Lottery Ticket, Withdraws Complaint and Curse

"Aunt Khayan" expressed joy after police confirmed that the first prize lottery ticket belongs to her. She is ready to forgive if it is returned and will withdraw her complaint and all curses.

Regarding the case of the first prize lottery ticket number 173770 that went missing during verification, reported by Ms. Saian Dokmai, also known as "Aunt Khayan," a resident of Pak Nam Subdistrict, Sawankhalok District, Sukhothai Province, who filed a police report stating that she ordered three lottery tickets from the stall of “Je Haeng” at a roadside shop at the entrance to Pak Nam Subdistrict, Village No. 6,

then on the morning of 1 June 2016, she went to collect the tickets and paid 300 baht for the three tickets sewn together. After the lottery results were announced around 7 p.m., she asked a neighbor to check the tickets. It turned out that one ticket won the first prize. The neighbor hugged her in celebration and asked if she wanted to keep the ticket with her. She agreed and left the ticket with the neighbor instead of bringing it home.

Most recently (10 June 2016), after police confirmed that the disputed first prize lottery ticket belongs to “Aunt Khayan,” she expressed that she felt very happy and wants the winning ticket returned because no one has brought it back yet.

She said the reason she did not retrieve the ticket after learning she had won was because she trusted the person who checked it and was told that the ticket would be taken to the bank for redemption to avoid the risk of theft, so she entrusted the first prize lottery ticket to that person.

When asked if she knew the first prize was worth 6 million baht, Aunt Khayan said she knew but did not understand how large that amount was because in her daily life she is used to handling only hundreds or thousands of baht. Therefore, she did not show excitement like others usually do. Normally, she is a calm person and even when winning a small prize, she just redeems it quietly without celebration.

Aunt Khayan further explained that she usually asks acquaintances to check her lottery tickets for her, but this time was the first that she brought the first prize ticket to Ms. Waew for checking, approaching her directly and simply saying, “Waew, please check this lottery ticket.”

After checking, Ms. Waew told her the ticket had won the first prize and hugged her joyfully before calling others to share the news. It was confirmed that five people knew about it: herself, Waew, Aunt Mee, Aunt Lek, and Aunt Mon. However, only Waew and Aunt Mee hugged her. After learning about the win, Ms. Waew also asked to borrow 100,000 baht.

When asked what she would do if the winning ticket and the 6 million baht prize were returned to her, Aunt Khayan briefly replied that she would help her children pay off debts and save the rest. She confirmed that if the ticket is returned, she will not pursue legal action, will withdraw the complaint and all curses she had uttered, and they can return to normal communication. She will not hold any anger.
