Court Sentences “Suea Dusit” to 3 Years Without Suspension for Assaulting Middle-aged Man in Restaurant

The Nonthaburi Provincial Court sentenced “Suea Dusit” and a friend to 3 years in prison without suspension for severely injuring a middle-aged man in a restaurant, while another friend received a 4-year sentence.

On 10 June 2026 at the Nonthaburi Provincial Court, the verdict was read in the case involving Mr. Samrit Rimthuean, known as “Suea Dusit,” aged 40, Mr. Anon Jansorn, 36, and Mr. Maitri Saengrith, 28. They were charged with assaulting Mr. Thanapon Wekawakyanon, 53, who suffered severe injuries including 12 broken ribs and pulmonary contusions. The incident occurred around 4:30 a.m. on 18 February 2026 at a restaurant on Nonthaburi Bypass Road, Bang Krasor Subdistrict, Mueang Nonthaburi District.

After the incident, Suea Dusit and his associates surrendered themselves to investigators at Rattanathibet Police Station, Nonthaburi Province. They were then detained at the Nonthaburi Provincial Court. Each posted bail of 120,000 baht for release.

The investigators at Rattanathibet Police Station collected evidence and interviewed involved parties before forwarding the case to the Nonthaburi Provincial Public Prosecutor's Office. The prosecution decided to press charges against Suea Dusit and his group. Meanwhile, Suea Dusit paid 1,500,000 baht to the injured party, Mr. Thanapon, as medical expenses. However, after this, he allegedly committed another assault causing injury to Ms. Mira Durongkchayanurak, 36, his girlfriend.

At 1:30 p.m., the court delivered its judgment in the case, sentencing Samrit Rimthuean (Suea Dusit) and Maitri Saengrith each to 3 years in prison without suspension. Anon Jansorn, aged 36, was sentenced to 4 years due to having a prior offense ('red card'). After the verdict, Suea Dusit's lawyer filed an appeal.

Reporters noted that after the verdict reading at the Nonthaburi Provincial Court, the lawyers submitted cash bail of 150,000 baht each to request bail from the appellate court. However, as the paperwork was not completed in time, the court issued detention orders for Maitri and Anon, who were then sent to Nonthaburi Provincial Prison. It is expected that within 2–3 days, the Nonthaburi Provincial Court will summon both men to hear the appellate court’s decision on whether bail will be granted.
