Police have arrested four suspects from a gang involved in stealing transformers and cutting power cables, causing chaos at a golf course with damages exceeding 7 million baht. The gang leader was found to be a former electrician.
At 14:00 on 11 June 2026, reporters at Lat Lum Kaeo Police Station, Pathum Thani Province, reported that Pol. Maj. Gen. Peerapol Chotikasathien, Commander of Pathum Thani Provincial Police, along with Pol. Maj. Gen. Surawut Saengrungreung, Commander of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Police, Pol. Col. Thongrop Jaengjit, Deputy Commander of Pathum Thani Provincial Police, Pol. Col. Phumthat Kositwanichpong, Deputy Commander of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Police, Pol. Col. Dutsadee Hirunrat, Chief of Lat Lum Kaeo Police Station, Pol. Col. Trit Kamchumphon, Chief of Investigation Division of Pathum Thani Provincial Police, Pol. Col. Nakphan Photha, Chief of Chang Yai Police Station, Saroj Suksri, Head of Sai Noi Highway Section, and the investigative team jointly held a press conference announcing the arrest of four suspects.
The suspects are: 1. Mr. Kritphat, nicknamed “Ding”, 31 years old; 2. Mr. Saroj, nicknamed “Roj”, 43 years old; 3. Mr. Krisanphan, nicknamed “Phet”, 26 years old; and 4. Mr. Nattawut, nicknamed “Not”, 22 years old. Confiscated items include two wooden sticks used to extend for cutting high-voltage electrical fuses, three pieces of clothing worn on the day of the incident, and two motorcycles without license plates used as vehicles to commit the crime and flee.
The police charged all suspects with “jointly attempting theft at night, committing the offense together with at least two persons, using a vehicle to facilitate the crime or to transport stolen property, and jointly causing property damage.”
Afterward, the police took all suspects to reenact the crime scene for their confessions at Point 1, located beside the Pathum Thani-Bang Len Road, kilometer marker 28+600, Lat Lum Kaeo Subdistrict, Lat Lum Kaeo District, Pathum Thani Province. This was the location where the perpetrators used wooden sticks to cut fuses at a high-voltage electric pole with a transformer attached.
They then collectively removed the transformer, disassembled and stripped the wires inside a 30 kVA (24,000 V) transformer, then burned the wires to extract copper to sell. They proceeded to Point 2, the site where the wires were burned to retrieve copper, totaling nearly 30 kilograms, which they sold to a scrap dealer opposite Lat Lum Kaeo District Office for 9,000 baht.
After completing the reenactment in Pathum Thani, investigators from Chang Yai Police Station took the suspects to identify the crime scene along Highway 3902 at the entrance to the “SAI” golf course, Potang Subdistrict, Bang Sai District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. At this location, three suspects—Kritphat, Krisanphan, and Nattawut—attempted to steal and cut power cables.
They divided tasks among themselves but made a mistake when one suspect incorrectly cut a fuse, causing a widespread electrical outage and significant damage to the golf course’s power supply system, resulting in losses over 7 million baht. Subsequently, the police took all suspects and seized evidence to the Lat Lum Kaeo Police Station for prosecution, while Chang Yai Police Station also detained them to proceed with legal actions.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Peerapol Chotikasathien, Commander of Pathum Thani Provincial Police, stated that three perpetrators committed transformer and power cable theft along Highway 346 Pathum Thani–Bang Len, Village No. 8, Na Mai Subdistrict, Lum Kaeo District, Pathum Thani Province. The Sai Noi Highway Section reported the crime to Lat Lum Kaeo Police. Following the incident, Lat Lum Kaeo investigative officers continuously tracked the suspects, identifying them and learning that they frequently gathered at a residence in Village No. 1, Srichaitong Village, Rahaeng Subdistrict, Lat Lum Kaeo District, Pathum Thani Province. This was the home of Kritphat “Ding,” the gang leader and former electrician, who was also involved in drug-related activities.
Authorities reported this information up the chain of command and received orders to investigate. Upon inspection, officers found the gang gathered at a shelter in front of the house. They identified themselves and conducted a search, discovering five methamphetamine pills (Category 1 narcotics), one homemade pistol, and five 12-gauge shotgun shells. The suspects were taken for further interrogation. Additionally, Kritphat “Ding” was due to appear in court shortly for a prior wire theft case at Pak Khlong Rangsit Police Station but continued committing similar crimes without remorse.
During extended interrogation, all suspects confessed to stealing power cables and transformers in Lat Lum Kaeo District, Pathum Thani Province, and admitted to attempting to steal power cables and causing property damage at the entrance to a golf course in Village No. 4, Chang Yai Subdistrict, Bang Sai District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.
Furthermore, the four suspects admitted to multiple prior offenses involving transformer and power cable thefts in both Pathum Thani and Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provinces.
Pol. Maj. Gen. Surawut Saengrungreung, Commander of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Police, said that on 2 June 2026, Chang Yai Police Station received a report from Than Nirund Company Limited, operator of the “SAI” golf course along Highway 3902, Potang Subdistrict, Bang Sai District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. They reported an attempted theft of high-voltage power cables. Prior to the incident, the golf course’s electrical system experienced intermittent outages. Security guards inspected the high-voltage poles at the golf course entrance and found three men using two wooden sticks joined together to pull the high-voltage fuse, intending to cut power to facilitate theft. Upon noticing the security guards, the suspects abandoned the sticks and fled rapidly on motorcycles without license plates.
The golf course manager contacted the Provincial Electricity Authority for inspection and damage assessment, revealing structural and electrical system damage valued at over 7 million baht. Following the investigation and arrest, the police investigative team continuously tracked the suspects by reviewing CCTV footage from the crime scene and escape routes in detail, identifying the individuals and gathering clear evidence linking them to the crimes. They submitted evidence to the Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Provincial Court to obtain arrest warrants and coordinated with Pathum Thani Provincial Police and Lat Lum Kaeo Police Station to pursue the gang, ultimately arresting three suspects along with another gang member involved in previous offenses.
