The deputy superintendent of Sawang Arom Police Station revealed that a mobile phone was found at the crime scene and is currently undergoing DNA analysis to identify the perpetrator. Meanwhile, the acting commander of Uthai Thani Provincial Police has called a meeting with the investigation team and conducted a crime reenactment.
A shocking incident occurred in Uthai Thani province around 06:30 on 12 June 2026, when a female Grade 12 student was brutally ambushed and attacked by a suspect while riding her motorcycle to school, resulting in her death. The tragedy brought grief to the family and cries from the father, who rushed to help but was unable to save his daughter. Evidence at the scene indicated a struggle and showed that the assailant dragged the motorcycle into a nearby roadside forest. Police have deployed investigative teams to track down the suspect, who witnesses described as wearing an outfit resembling a scout uniform, as previously reported.
In the latest update, reporters noted that police revisited the scene at around 14:00 and discovered a trail of blood droplets along the road. They also found the deceased’s Honda motorcycle, license plate 1 ก ฉ 1230 Uthai Thani, dragged into a nearby forested area. Additionally, a mobile phone, eyeglasses, and sandals were found scattered at the scene and have been collected as evidence by authorities.
Interviews with witnesses and information from the victim’s family revealed that the attacker was dressed in clothing resembling a scout uniform before fleeing the scene.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Songjak Prapatsorn, deputy superintendent of Sawang Arom Police Station, updated that officers are currently conducting extensive searches in the dense, complex forested area around the crime scene to gather additional crucial evidence for the case.
Lieutenant Colonel Songjak added that one mobile phone was recovered at the scene and has been handed over to forensic officials to test for latent fingerprints and DNA. Friends of the victim reported that she owned two to three personal phones, so authorities are still verifying whether the recovered phone belongs to the victim or the suspect.
Regarding the suspect’s appearance, Lieutenant Colonel Songjak cited testimony from the victim’s father, who said he saw the attacker briefly emerge from the roadside forest before the daughter followed. The suspect was described as stocky, wearing a short-sleeved shirt and khaki shorts, along with a red beret-style hat resembling a scout cap. Initial assumptions are that the attire was similar to a scout uniform.
For the manhunt, Lieutenant Colonel Songjak ordered the dissemination of descriptions and images of the suspect’s clothing via LINE groups among local administrative officials, including village headmen and chiefs, to increase vigilance and gather leads. Authorities emphasized that locals are familiar with the area’s terrain and urged cooperation to swiftly identify and apprehend the perpetrator.
The 17-year-old female student’s body was initially taken to Nong Si Liam Temple in Boyang Subdistrict, Sawang Arom District, for religious rites. However, police subsequently transferred the body to the forensic department at Sawankhalok Pracharak Hospital in Nakhon Sawan Province for examination of injury traces before continuing with the religious ceremony.
The victim’s father is currently providing testimony to investigators, as he witnessed the attack and rushed to assist his daughter, who ultimately succumbed to her injuries.
Authorities urged the public to report any sightings of suspicious individuals matching the suspect’s description or any useful information related to the case to Sawang Arom Police Station or local police at any time to expedite the arrest and prosecution of the offender.
Later reports stated that Police Major General Worawat Mali, deputy commander of Region 6 Police and acting commander of Uthai Thani Provincial Police, convened an investigation team at Sawang Arom Police Station to review case progress before visiting the crime scene. The team reenacted the attack on the 17-year-old Grade 12 student from a local school, who suffered multiple stab wounds and died shortly after.
During the site visit, Lieutenant Colonel Songjak Prapatsorn, deputy superintendent of Sawang Arom Police, and Police Lieutenant Wirot Chantrayo, duty officer, provided detailed case information. Subsequently, Police Major General Worawat went to the home of Mr. Wirot, the victim’s father, but he was not present. From this location, the road and crime scene are visible within approximately 500 meters, with occasional passing traffic.
The group later proceeded to Nong Si Liam Temple, where the victim’s funeral rites are held. Police Major General Worawat offered condolences and encouragement to the family, while social development and human security officials met with them to provide support and counseling.
Additionally, Mrs. Mali, a housekeeper at Boyang Health Station who first aided the injured, revealed that when the victim’s father brought her to the clinic, she was conscious and able to communicate, frequently asking for water. The clinic then contacted rescue services to transfer her to Sawang Arom Hospital, but the victim lost the ability to respond in her final moments.
