Customs officers raided a warehouse in the Lat Krabang area, seizing over 170,000 non-standard electrical appliances and cosmetics illegally imported, valued at more than 16 million baht.
At 14:30 on 14 June 2026, Mr. Pakorn Pitikultang, Secretary of the Customs Department, revealed that the Customs Department is acting under government policy, supervised by Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Dr. Anek Niti Thantipprapas. They have tasked relevant agencies to intensify the crackdown on illegal activities, emphasizing integrated cooperation across all sectors to systematically intercept criminal networks at every stage—from origin, transit, to destination.
On 11 June 2026, the Customs Department’s Investigation and Suppression Division obtained a court warrant to inspect a warehouse in Thap Yao Subdistrict, Lat Krabang District, Bangkok. The search uncovered foreign-made goods without customs clearance evidence, as well as lacking certification from the Industrial Product Standards Office (ISO) and without approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Over 170,000 items were seized, valued at more than 16 million baht. This constitutes the offense of knowingly receiving or retaining goods not cleared through customs, violating the Customs Act of 2017.
The Customs Department Secretary added that the department will intensify inspections of imported goods, conduct thorough warehouse searches, and continuously integrate data sharing with government agencies to protect consumers from substandard products and to maintain confidence in the economic system and national safety.
