Witness Describes Moment Cannabis Vendor Was Stabbed, Fear Prevented Reporting Due to Threats

A cannabis vendor was stabbed, his body stuffed into a crate and buried in soil. A witness described the moment of the incident, saying they were threatened into silence and did not dare report it, instead quickly informing the victim’s family. So far, one assailant has been arrested; one remains at large.

Authorities found the body of Mr. Chaisit Khanta, also known as Poi, 34, killed and stuffed into a blue crate, then buried in soil in a planter box on the second floor of a home in Don Mueang. The ground floor operated as a cannabis shop.

Investigation revealed that at around 22:00 on 14 June, Don Mueang police received a report of a fight at this house. Upon checking, no incident was found. At 05:00 the next morning, Mr. Phuwanai Sukthong, 38, came to the police station to report that his younger brother, Chaisit Khanta (Poi), had argued with three men including Mr. Supakorn Jeensri. Later, Supakorn stabbed the victim once in the chest and fled. No injured persons were found at the scene, and it was unclear if the victim had sought medical treatment elsewhere. A friend present at the scene was too afraid to report due to threats from the attackers.

Officers returned to the scene with the informant and found blood drops on the first floor. Upstairs, the air conditioner was on, and the bedroom door was locked from inside. They broke down the door but found nothing unusual. Further searching uncovered soil and a necklace on top of the soil in a planter box. Digging revealed a blue plastic crate containing the victim’s body.

Police later questioned the victim’s friends present at the incident. The house was the victim’s, with cannabis plants grown on the top floor as he made a living selling cannabis. Around 10 p.m. the previous night, three of the victim’s friends waited at the house. The victim called a friend to stay with him. An argument then broke out in the living room on the first floor, reportedly over the victim accusing one of the three suspects of stealing his watch.

After the argument, one of the three stabbed the victim in the chest with a knife. The witness said the attackers threatened to kill anyone who told, forcing the witness to find an opportunity to escape. The witness did not see the body being moved. After fleeing, the witness informed an older cousin of the victim, who then alerted the police to investigate.

Police have not yet clarified the motive behind the murder but are conducting detailed witness interviews about the events.

There are three suspects, all friends of the victim who came to confront issues at the house. Investigators have identified all three. Two suspects have been detained; one of them is confirmed as the stabber and was found with the knife and blood-stained clothes. The third suspect remains at large and is being pursued.

At 11:00, Police Chief Pol. Lt. Gen. Siam Boonsom, along with senior officers, convened a meeting with Don Mueang Police Station Commander Pol. Col. Wanchai Wongwanichon and others to follow up on the case at Don Mueang Police Station.
