Suspect in Marijuana Vendor Murder Claims He Was Insulted First but Often Smiles Despite Sadness

Latest update on the case of a marijuana vendor killed and his body hidden in a plastic container inside a house in Don Mueang: Police detained the stabbing suspect who explained he often smiles but is actually saddened, emphasizing he was insulted about his parents first.

On 17 Jun 2026 GMT+7, Chaisit Khanta, or Poi, 34, a marijuana vendor, was stabbed to death by Supakorn Jeensee, 27, inside a residence. Two others were present: Chayaphol Chaisri, 27, and Kritthanat Sripumchai, 24. The body was concealed in a plastic container hidden in a marijuana planting box on the second floor of the two-story townhouse used as a marijuana shop in Don Mueang. The suspect claimed the victim accused him of stealing a watch and insulted his parents; they arranged to meet to resolve issues but the situation escalated to murder and concealment.

Today, Don Mueang police prepared to bring the three suspects for their first detention hearing at the Criminal Court. While reporters waited behind the Don Mueang police station, the stabbing suspect, believed to be Supakorn, shouted to speak with reporters through the detainee room window.

Initially, Supakorn joked with reporters before admitting he was doing okay and felt some remorse. He described the incident as an accident but declined to elaborate on the nature of the accident.

When asked about removing the victim's belongings from the house, Supakorn said he "threw them away." Asked why not discard them in the trash bin outside, he said, "Others would find out." Pressed again on why he moved the victim's belongings, he claimed, "I don't remember because I was drunk and sleep-deprived, but now I've rested well."

Asked if he had apologized after the incident, Supakorn said he had apologized to his mother only. Regarding the victim, he said, "I'll wait for him to apologize first because he insulted my parents." When asked how the victim might apologize, Supakorn replied, "Waiting for him to appear in my dreams." Asked about his previous claim of exorcising the victim's spirit, Supakorn did not respond.

Reporters observed that at times Supakorn climbed and held onto the metal bars of the detainee room window. His tone showed no signs of stress or concern, and he referred to himself using the pronoun "I" in a modest way.

At 10:20, Don Mueang police escorted the three suspects to the Criminal Court for the first detention hearing. En route, Supakorn told reporters he was saddened by the incident but naturally smiles often. He reiterated no intent to steal the victim's belongings. He stated the stabbing was provoked by insults toward his parents, which he could not tolerate. He denied any connection to marijuana business disputes or orders from influential figures.

Supakorn also stated that after the incident, he went home and removed the cloth he had tied around his chest by pulling it over his head. He ended by expressing a wish to apologize to the victim's family and said he was waiting for the victim to appear in his dreams to apologize.

While being led onto the vehicle from the police station, reporters noticed Supakorn smiling continuously, in contrast to the other two suspects who appeared serious and tense.
