The Criminal Court denied bail for three suspects accused of killing and placing the body of a 'marijuana dealer' in a crate to conceal the crime. The court cited the brutal nature of the offense and reason to believe all three suspects would flee if granted temporary release.
At the Criminal Court at 1:00 p.m. on 17 Jun 2026 GMT+7, investigators from Don Mueang Police Station brought in suspects Supakorn Jeensri, 27, from Pathum Thani Province; Kritthanat Sripumchai, 24, from Bangkok; and Chayaphol Chaisri, 27, from Lopburi Province. They face joint murder charges following the killing of 34-year-old marijuana dealer Chaisit Khanta. The suspects were presented for their first 12-day detention request from 18 to 29 Jun 2026 GMT+7. During the investigation, the first suspect confessed, while the second and third denied the charges and opposed bail. The court approved the detention request.
Subsequently, all three suspects filed bail requests accompanied by financial guarantees.
The court considered the severity of the charges and case circumstances from the detention request. It found the suspects acted brutally and showed no fear of the law. Investigators opposed bail, stating the offense was serious. The court believed there was reasonable cause to suspect the suspects would flee if released, thus denied the bail requests.
The court then issued detention orders to transfer all three suspects to Bangkok Remand Prison for custody.
