A garbage collector was shocked to find the body of an unidentified woman bound in a bag and discarded in a roadside trash bin in Krasae Bon Subdistrict, Rayong Province. The body was heavily decomposed, with long red hair and tattoos covering the entire back. Police are rushing to send the body for autopsy to confirm identity, examining CCTV footage and missing persons information. So far, no leads have been ruled out.
On 18 June 2026, Police Lieutenant Chaitawat Rodma, Deputy Investigator at Klaeng Police Station, Rayong Province, received a report of a body found inside a trash bin by the roadside in Village 8, Krasae Bon Subdistrict, Klaeng District, Rayong. He informed his superiors and led officers, including forensic teams, investigators from Klaeng Police Station, on-call doctors from the hospital, and rescue foundation staff, to the scene. Mr. Boonsueb Klaewkla, village headman of Krasae Bon Subdistrict, also assisted in facilitating and inspecting the scene.
At the scene, a garbage truck registered in Rayong from the Krasae Bon Subdistrict Administrative Organization was parked by the roadside. Inside the trash heap was the body of a female, about 20 years old, with long red hair, fair skin, and a petite build. Tattoos covered her entire back. The body was heavily decomposed, with maggots and flies swarming over it, emitting a strong foul odor throughout the area. It is estimated she had been dead for at least 4-5 days.
Mr. Sanya Ruamket, 52, a garbage truck assistant, revealed that at about 5 a.m., he and driver Mr. Phuwanat Phongsai began their usual trash collection route. They noticed one trash bin emitting an unusually strong foul odor, with numerous flies and maggots swarming around it. They lifted the bin to empty it into the garbage truck’s compactor.
While the compactor was operating, the trash bag split open, revealing a human body inside. Upon closer inspection, they discovered it was a female corpse, which shocked them greatly. They immediately informed the police to investigate.
Preliminary investigations found no documents or evidence to identify the deceased. The severe decomposition made identification difficult. Authorities cannot yet confirm whether the deceased was Thai or a foreign laborer.
Police have not ruled out any possibilities, including natural death, accident, or homicide with the body discarded to cover up the crime. Investigators have been ordered to urgently review CCTV footage along entry and exit routes in the area and to thoroughly check missing persons and foreign labor data in the locality.
Meanwhile, the body has been sent for autopsy to determine the true cause of death and to confirm identity, as authorities work to unravel the mystery surrounding the red-haired woman’s death.
