On 17 Jun 2026 GMT+7, Pol. Gen. Thana Chuang, Deputy Commissioner of Police and Director of the Police Operations Center, along with Pol. Lt. Gen. Jirapop Phuridet, Assistant Commissioner and Deputy Director of the Police Operations Center, Pol. Maj. Gen. Trairong Piwpan, Deputy Inspector General and Deputy Director, ordered Pol. Maj. Gen. Worachart Saenkham, Commander of the Provincial Police Region 1 Investigation Bureau; and several other senior officers, to lead a joint operation involving the Police Operations Center and the Investigation Unit of Provincial Police Region 1 to dismantle two major online gambling networks in Udon Thani. These networks reportedly had a total turnover exceeding 90 million baht per month.
Following government policy and directives from Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanpetch, Commissioner of Police, related agencies have been instructed to intensify crackdowns on online gambling networks, especially those involved in football betting, which continue to operate defiantly despite the law. Authorities are also monitoring to prevent youth involvement in online gambling during the 2026 World Cup held across the Americas from 11 Jun to 19 Jul.
The Police Operations Center team and investigators from the Provincial Police Region 1 Investigation Unit discovered two online gambling websites: “member.ufa47,” operating for over two years with more than 54,886 members and a turnover exceeding 60 million baht per month (over 720 million baht annually), and “ufad1,” active for over six months with 48,380 members, which reportedly had a turnover exceeding 100 million baht in the last three months.
These sites secretly offered betting on international football matches, slot games, baccarat, and various other gambling activities. Evidence was gathered, and the Udon Thani Provincial Court approved search warrants to raid two locations in Mueang district, Udon Thani.
At the first location, police executed Udon Thani Provincial Court warrant no. 106/2569 to search a house in Mueang district, serving as the base for the “member.ufa47” website. They arrested nine administrators: Mr. Narubet, 32, Ms. Waraporn, 24, Ms. Sutharak, 24, all from Udon Thani; Ms. Sirinpha, 26, and Mr. Wayu, 24, both from Sakon Nakhon; Mr. Anukitti, 23, Mr. Anuwit, 19, Ms. Pinsuda, 28, and Ms. Thanchanok, 26, all from Udon Thani. Authorities seized 12 computers, 27 mobile phones, routers, and various electronic devices totaling 47 items.
At the second location, police executed Udon Thani Provincial Court warrant no. 105/2569 to search another house in Nong Bua subdistrict, Mueang district, Udon Thani, the base for the “ufad1” website. They arrested six administrators: Mr. Phongsakorn, 25, from Sakon Nakhon; Ms. Chularat, 29, Ms. Pimpaka, 26, Ms. Sirikorn, 29, all from Udon Thani; Ms. Natthayan, 29, from Bueng Kan; and Ms. Supada, 29, from Nong Khai. Seized items included eight computers, 10 mobile phones, and one router.
The raids resulted in the arrest of 15 administrators who worked in a coordinated manner: recruiting players, answering customer queries, transferring money to customers when winnings were received, and withdrawing funds from gambling accounts as directed by website owners. Each received an average monthly payment of 20,000 baht. All confessed to the charges during initial interrogations.
All involved face legal action for jointly organizing unauthorized gambling activities, conspiring with two or more persons to commit money laundering, and committing money laundering offenses due to the conspiracy. They have been detained and will be prosecuted according to the law.
