On 18 Jun 2026 GMT+7, reporters provided an update on the 16 Jun operation by the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), which coordinated with four agencies—the Technology Crime Suppression Division, the Forensic Science Institute, the Ministry of Justice, and the Bank of Thailand—to conduct "Shutdown the laundering," targeting unauthorized Forex investment and trading networks at 24 locations across Bangkok, Nonthaburi, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, and Samut Sakhon. There are suspicions of involvement by politicians and entertainment figures. The raids yielded substantial assets including over 65 million baht in cash, five supercars, gold bars, silver bars, jewelry, branded bags, firearms, hardware wallets, computers, electronic equipment, servers, and critical documents. Authorities also froze more than 70 related bank accounts. Investigators are currently interviewing numerous victims and collecting evidence from the raids for analysis, but no suspects have yet been summoned or arrested.
Regarding rumors about a politician’s involvement in unauthorized Forex trading, investigators clarified that the politician does not own any wallet associated with the case. However, evidence shows multiple financial transactions from the Forex company’s bank accounts transferred to the politician's bank accounts, indicating possible benefit receipt. This serves as preliminary evidence suggesting the politician may be involved and is considered a suspect.
Concerning the entertainment industry, a famous male actor had luxury supercars and several motorcycles seized as evidence, valued at millions of baht, linked to unauthorized Forex trading. Currently, neither the actor nor the opposition male politician has been charged or summoned, but both are connected to companies operating in Forex trading, especially through multiple financial transactions received by their accounts.
Latest reports state that on 19 Jun 2026 GMT+7 at 10:00 hrs, in front of the Department of Special Investigation building, Police Lieutenant General Rutthaphol Nawarat, Minister of Justice, will lead the DSI and related agencies in a press conference to announce the operation results. The briefing will include the full network map of involved persons—prominent politicians, entertainment figures, private companies—and key evidence obtained from the raids.
Additional reports noted that on 17-18 Jun, DSI officials from the Technology and Information Division gradually moved seized vehicles—including supercars brands PORSCHE, McLaren, Mini Cooper, Volkswagen, and several motorcycles, totaling over 10 vehicles—from the "Shutdown the laundering" operation to be stored in front of the DSI building in preparation for the press briefing.
