Car Wheels Stolen Overnight Near Police and Prosecutor Residences in Ayutthaya City

A thief showed no fear of the law by stealing two wheels from a sedan in central Ayutthaya, brazenly acting near the residences of the provincial police commander and the prosecutor.

At 9:30 a.m. on 18 June 2026, Police Lieutenant Samart Raksasak, deputy investigator at Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Police Station, received a report of a sedan’s wheels stolen from a car parked along U-Thong Road heading toward Chao Phrom Market, Ho Rattanachai Subdistrict, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya District. He promptly went to the scene and coordinated with the station's investigation team to examine the site.

At the scene, a black Toyota Camry with Bangkok registration was found missing its front left and rear right wheels. The thief had unscrewed the lug nuts until some broke, and four concrete blocks were used to support the vehicle at the front and rear. The car owner, Mr. Chatuporn, age 50, was present providing information to officers.

Mr. Chatuporn said that around 2:00 a.m. the previous night, he parked the car in front of the public health office residence. At about 8:00 a.m., as he prepared to leave for work, he discovered two wheels—both front and rear—had been stolen, prompting him to report the incident to the police.

It is initially believed the thief acted after the vehicle was parked, bringing a jack and concrete blocks to remove the wheels and support the car. The incident shocked the owner, who did not expect such audacity in that area.

The investigating officers documented and photographed the scene as evidence before assigning the investigation team to promptly review nearby CCTV footage to identify and apprehend the culprit for legal action.

Reporters noted the incident occurred in the heart of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya city, near the residences of the provincial police commander and provincial prosecutor. Despite adequate lighting, the thief boldly committed the crime without fear of the law.
