At approximately 00:30 on 20 June 2026, the Chiang Mai tourist police investigation unit, led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Nithipat Bulmak and Police Lieutenant Colonel Phattharaphon Boonkasem, arrested 30-year-old American Mr. Eick Alberto inside Cream Club on Charoen Rat Road, Chang Moi Subdistrict, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai Province.
An investigation found that the American man was working as a DJ playing music at the venue without a legal work permit. Authorities arrested him on charges of being a foreigner working without a permit or beyond authorized rights, then detained him along with related documents and handed him over to investigators for further legal action.
Tourist police emphasized they will continue to inspect and crack down on foreigners working illegally in Thailand to enforce the law and ensure fairness for local workers.
