Sek Loso, a convicted prisoner in a firearms law case, has been granted a royal pardon and is scheduled for release at Khao Kling Temporary Prison in Phetchaburi Province on 24 June 2026. However, he must undergo probation supervision and wear an electronic monitoring (EM) bracelet.
On 20 June 2026, reporters covered the case of Sek San Sukpimai, known as Sek Loso, a convicted prisoner for possession of firearms and ammunition, resisting officials, and methamphetamine and 3,4-methylenedioxy-methamphetamine (MDMA) use. He was sentenced to 2 years, 12 months, and 20 days (minus 3 days in detention) starting 20 May 2025, with a release date of 31 May 2028. He was selected to attend a special sentence suspension training program titled "Applying the Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy in Prisoners' Daily Life" under the Moral Encouragement Project initiated by Princess Bajrakitiyabha (a 5-month course) for fiscal year 2026 at Khao Kling Temporary Prison, affiliated with Phetchaburi Central Prison, scheduled from 23 January 2026 to 23 June 2026.
According to reports within the Ministry of Justice, on 3 June the Royal Decree granting a pardon for 2026 came into effect. Sek San, as a convicted prisoner, qualified for a royal pardon under Sections 9(2) and 10(2), receiving a sentence reduction of 5 months and 20 days from the original 2 years, 12 months, and 20 days, leaving a remaining sentence of 2 years, 6 months, and 30 days. His new release date is 13 December 2027.
Furthermore, Sek San was approved for a special sentence suspension by the Subcommittee on Sentence Suspension at their meeting on 27 May 2026, and the Minister of Justice authorized this suspension on 19 June 2026. Consequently, Phetchaburi Central Prison will release Sek San to enter this special sentence suspension process under probation supervision, including the requirement to wear an electronic monitoring (EM) device, on 24 June 2026, following the completion of his training program on 23 June 2026.
Additionally, internal Ministry of Justice reports reveal that Sek San has already served 1 year, 1 month, and 9 days of imprisonment and has 1 year, 5 months, and 21 days remaining on probation. During probation, he must comply with all probation conditions until his sentence is fully served.
