Two 17-year-old gang members have been arrested for assaulting male and female victims at an intersection in Nakhon Ratchasima. They used baseball bats to break helmets and vandalize motorcycles. The suspects claim they did not know the victims, and the weapon was found nearby. Authorities are urgently pursuing the remaining four suspects.
On 22 June 2026, Mr. Karawit (surname withheld), 19, and Mr. Kittikun (surname withheld), 17, reported to Police Lieutenant Warisara Arunmai, deputy investigator at Pak Chong Police Station in Nakhon Ratchasima, to file a complaint after being assaulted by a group of over six youths who also damaged their property.
The incident occurred at 11:30 p.m. on 21 June when the victims were riding motorcycles home in Nong Sarai area after finishing work at Pak Chong market. At the traffic light at Pa Phai Lam Somphung intersection, a group of six youths on three motorcycles approached and assaulted them. One assailant forcibly pulled a female passenger off the motorcycle and struck her head with a baseball bat, breaking her helmet. They also smashed the motorcycles, causing damage. During the attack, an object resembling a firearm dropped onto the road; one youth retrieved it and fled with the group. The victims recorded video evidence of the assault.
This afternoon, the Pak Chong Police investigative team arrested two suspects out of the six involved, named Mr. Pao and Mr. Pee, both 17 years old. Police Colonel Jarin Jintapol, chief of Pak Chong Police Station, stated the suspects initially claimed they did not know or have any conflict with the victims. Regarding the firearm found at the scene, the suspects said they saw it lying on the ground and picked it up; it was not their weapon.
Authorities are actively seeking the other four suspects still at large. If they fail to appear before investigators after summons, warrants will be issued. As for charges, investigators await forensic examination results from the Crime Lab to confirm the firearm’s condition and any modifications before compiling the case and formally pressing charges.
