Raid on Nonthaburi Residence Linked to Local Exam Fraud Uncovers Over 3,000 Answer Sheet Copies

The Central Investigation Bureau, together with the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), raided a residence in Nonthaburi Province linked to "local exam fraud." They found evidence in the form of copies of "answer sheets." Approximately 3,000 copies were found, used for score alterations and bribery, with damages valued at over 4.5 billion baht.

On 23 Jun 2026 GMT+7, Pol. Lt. Gen. Natsak Chaowanachai, Chief of the Central Investigation Bureau, and Pol. Maj. Gen. Jarunkiet Pankaew, Deputy Chief, assigned the Anti-Corruption Division Commander, Pol. Col. Wanatchai Yingyongsomsawat, along with Pol. Lt. Col. Pradit Sifong, Investigator of Anti-Corruption Division 2, to collaborate with Mr. Surapong Intrathaworn, Secretary-General of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), Mr. Phatthanapong Chanphetpool, Assistant Secretary-General of NACC, Mr. Netipon Chumyong, Director of the Investigation and Special Affairs Bureau, and officers of the same bureau to execute a search warrant from Nonthaburi Provincial Court No. Kor. 618/2569 dated 22 Jun 2026 GMT+7. They searched a house in Bang Len Subdistrict, Bang Yai District, Nonthaburi Province.

This search followed a complaint and evidence submitted to the NACC, including an audio clip, alleging misconduct by certain groups and tutors claiming insider connections to help candidates pass the 2025 local government staff exams (KST) and the Department of Local Administration Promotion (ST) exams to secure local government jobs.

Investigation revealed that this network demanded bribes nationwide ranging from 350,000 baht for general positions up to 700,000–800,000 baht in provinces or areas with high competition rates. According to official announcements by the Central Committee on Local Government Staff Competitive Examinations (KST) and the Department of Local Administration Promotion (ST) for 2025, the exam opened 87 positions per province, totaling 6,669 positions across the country.

The investigation found that the searched house was used to hide answer sheets that had been altered to match the announced passing scores. The main suspect, Mr. P., was identified. Key evidence included 18 computer sets with CPUs used to alter answer sheets, ethanol data storage devices containing candidates’ answer sheets nationwide, lists of candidates whose results were altered to show passing status, and about 3,000 copies of candidates’ answer sheets dated 15 Feb 2025. Approximately 2,000 had already been altered, with total damages estimated at about 4.5 billion baht.

At 10:00 a.m. on the same day (23 Jun 2026 GMT+7), the NACC office will officially announce details of this search at Nonthaburi Room 3, Building 4, NACC Office in Nonthaburi Province.
