The Independent Investigation Committee has summoned Eakwit and Big Joke along with their associates to be questioned and acknowledge charges on 6 July in the "246-Baht Gold Bribery Case" under the NACC.

On 23 June 2026, developments followed the Independent Investigation Committee's unanimous 9-0 resolution to charge Mr. Eakwit Watchawalku, a commissioner of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), with accepting a 246-baht gold bribe from Pol. Gen. Surachate Hakparn, former Deputy Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, along with three others, totaling four individuals. The charges relate to misconduct in office involving the acceptance of a 246-baht gold bribe from Pol. Gen. Surachate, who is also under NACC investigation for receiving benefits from an online gambling website.

Reports state that the summons issued by the Independent Investigation Committee calls on all four accused to acknowledge the charges and provide clarifications on 6 July 2026. The committee members act as investigative officers by personally questioning the accused to carry out legal procedures.
