In the first case, officers intercepted a vehicle transporting 250 kilograms of ice and arrested one suspect.

The investigative team of Division 2, Narcotics Suppression Division 3, coordinated with local narcotics units to monitor a drug trafficking network using Maetaeng district, Chiang Mai, as a receiving point before forwarding drugs to central regions. On the night of 2 June 2026, a blue Isuzu SUV with license plate starting with 'KT' from Lamphun province was observed entering Maetaeng district, then suspiciously heading inward. Officers followed and stopped the vehicle for inspection on the road in front of Maejoh Police Station, Nonghan subdistrict, Sansai district, Chiang Mai. The driver was found alone, and 250 kilograms of ice were concealed inside the vehicle. The suspect was detained with the evidence and handed over to investigators of Narcotics Suppression Division 3 for prosecution.

In the second case, officers raided a secret underground warehouse, seizing over 7.33 million methamphetamine pills and arresting two additional suspects.

Following the first arrest, investigators expanded their inquiry and identified a secret drug storage warehouse in Ban Maekajan, Village No. 7, Khee Lek subdistrict, Maetaeng district, Chiang Mai. Authorities closely monitored the site until 21 June 2026, when two suspects were seen preparing large quantities of narcotics inside a hut amid a fruit orchard. Upon inspection, officers found numerous sacks of drugs hidden within a concealed underground chamber designed to evade detection. Detailed examination confirmed the drugs were 7,330,000 methamphetamine pills. The evidence was seized, and the two suspects were detained and charged accordingly.

This operation resulted in the arrest of three suspects in two drug cases, with seizures totaling 7,330,000 methamphetamine pills and 250 kilograms of ice. It represents a significant effort to dismantle a major drug trafficking network and prevent a vast quantity of narcotics from entering inner areas and spreading within communities.
Pol. Lt. Gen. Atchayon Kraithong, Commander of the Narcotics Suppression Bureau, stated that this operation reflects the commitment of the police and all involved sectors in vigorously implementing the government’s drug control policy. The large-scale narcotics seized could have caused immense social harm if they had reached the black market, affecting children, youth, and families. Intercepting drugs at the source is akin to breaking the chain of drug proliferation and preventing massive quantities from flowing into communities. The Narcotics Suppression Bureau will continue to intensify efforts against drug networks in all dimensions, especially pursuing those who order shipments, financiers, and financial networks behind the scenes to dismantle criminal organizations thoroughly.
