
The Department of Corrections clarifies documents regarding the parole under special circumstances with an electronic monitoring (EM) bracelet for Mr. Seksan Sukpimai (Sek Loso), in accordance with transparent and equitable legal criteria that apply equally.
On 23 June 2026, the Department of Corrections issued a statement responding to public interest concerning the release of Mr. Seksan Sukpimai, also known as “Sek Loso,” a well-known singer who was sentenced to imprisonment for possession of firearms and ammunition, resisting officers, and drug use. His total sentence was 2 years, 12 months, and 20 days, starting from 20 May 2025, with a scheduled release date of 31 May 2028.
The Department of Corrections explained that during his incarceration, Mr. Seksan was selected to attend a special parole training program titled “Applying the Philosophy of Sufficiency Economy in the Lives of Inmates,” under the royal initiative "Kamlai Jai" by Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha at Khao Kling Temporary Prison, affiliated with Phetchaburi Central Prison, for five months during fiscal year 2026, from 23 January to 23 June 2026. Mr. Seksan complied with discipline and completed the training as required. Subsequently, on 3 June, the 2026 Royal Pardon Decree came into effect. Mr. Seksan, classified as a “convicted prisoner,” qualified for the pardon under sections 9(2) and 10(2), receiving a sentence reduction of 5 months and 20 days, reducing his sentence from 2 years, 12 months, and 20 days to 2 years, 6 months, and 30 days, with a new release date of 13 December 2027.
Furthermore, Mr. Seksan was approved for parole under special circumstances by the Subcommittee on Parole Consideration at their 5/2026 meeting on 27 May, with final approval from the Minister of Justice on 19 June. Phetchaburi Central Prison carried out his release under special parole with supervision, including the use of an electronic monitoring (EM) device, on 24 June. During the probation period, Mr. Seksan must strictly adhere to all conditions until his sentence is fully served.
