The Minburi Criminal Court ruled. The case of “Tik Shiro.” Drunk driving causing two deaths, sentenced to 2 years imprisonment without suspension, with driver's license revoked. Defense attorney preparing to file for bail.

At 09:00 on 24 Jun 2026, in courtroom 301 at the Minburi Criminal Court on Sihaburanukit Road, the court convened to deliver judgment in case number A 5405/2568, where the public prosecutor was the plaintiff filing charges against Mr. Manaswin or Sak Nantasen, also known as. “Tik Shiro.” Age 64, a famous singer, as the defendant, charged with driving under the influence causing death, negligent driving causing death, and negligent driving causing property damage.

On 10 Oct 2024 at 04:00, the defendant Manaswin drove a black Hyundai van, license plate HM-7999 Bangkok, and collided with a Honda Click motorcycle, license plate 8 Khon 508 Bangkok, on the Theparak Road Bridge on Sukhaphiban 5 Road, Or Ngoen subdistrict, Sai Mai district, Bangkok. This caused Ms. Thianporn Siwapornpitak, also known as Meiji, age 28, to die, and Mr. Jakraphat, or Junior, Siwapornpitak, age 21, a second-year humanities student at SWU Prasarnmit, the younger brother, was critically injured after falling 10 meters from the bridge. He was treated at Bhumibol Hospital and died on 18 Mar 2025.

At the time of the incident, the defendant’s blood alcohol content was between 151-166 mg percent, exceeding the legal limit of 50 mg percent.

Today, “Tik Shiro” appeared with his wife and lawyer. The victims’ parents, Mr. Jirawat Siwapornpitak and Mrs. Haruthai Im-erb, also attended as joint plaintiffs. During the trial, the defendant paid 3.5 million baht in compensation to the joint plaintiffs, but no civil settlement has been reached.

The court ruled the defendant guilty of driving under the influence causing death, sentencing him to 4 years imprisonment. Since he confessed, the sentence was halved to 2 years. Given the severity of the case and the lack of civil settlement, the court did not suspend the sentence and revoked his driver’s license.

Currently, the defense lawyer is preparing to file for bail for “Tik Shiro.”

Afterward, Mr. Jirawat Siwapornpitak, the father of the deceased, said that although he accepts the court’s decision, he remains uneasy because he views the 2-year sentence as light considering the loss of two lives. He will consult with lawyers to consider legal options and examine whether any grounds for appeal exist.

Regarding compensation, he confirmed that over nearly two years, Tik Shiro never contacted them. He acknowledged there was some compensation for funeral and medical expenses amounting to 250,000 baht, combined with funds from the motor vehicle accident fund and concert proceeds. The 500,000 baht presented to the court today, combined with previous payments, totals about 3 million baht in assistance.

Mr. Jirawat said the reported civil claim amount of 24 million baht is not the actual demand but a legal calculation of damages. The parties have not yet reached an agreement, although the civil case is under court consideration. He is willing to negotiate but will discuss appropriate figures with his lawyers.

He also expressed concern that the blood alcohol test was not conducted immediately at the scene but 7 hours later, showing 106 mg percent. He is unsure whether this affects legal considerations since the figures differ significantly. If tested immediately, the blood alcohol level might have exceeded 200 mg percent.
