The SWU rector rushed to file a complaint at Thonglor Police Station over an edited video clip intended to discredit him, asserting his integrity and denying any acceptance of benefits. He challenged the accusers to openly confront him rather than hide.
At 12:00 p.m. on 26 June 2026 at Thonglor Police Station, Professor Dr. Chonwit Jiarajit, rector of Srinakharinwirot University (SWU), met with Police Lieutenant Colonel Somyot Madsanga, an investigator at Thonglor Police Station, to file a complaint against individuals and a Facebook page for spreading false information. This included edited video clips that linked content in a defamatory, distorted manner, accusing him of accepting benefits and seriously damaging his and the institution's reputation.
Professor Dr. Chonwit revealed that he came to file charges against various pages posting completely false information, seeking justice and declaring that anyone spreading this false information or making distorted comments will face the full extent of the country's criminal law.
"I affirm that the statements in the clip are 100% untrue and absolutely impossible. I stand by my honor as an educator and confirm my integrity from all administrative levels up to the current rector. Our university has never accepted any benefits. We cannot accept this matter at all," the SWU rector said.
When asked about his initial reaction upon seeing and hearing the clip, the SWU rector admitted it was deeply unacceptable because the information was entirely false. He boldly challenged the group behind it, saying, "If anyone making these allegations has truthful evidence, I invite you to come forward and reveal yourself to society instead of hiding like this."
Furthermore, the rector stated that this act is extremely cruel, involving editing clips and linking words to tarnish a prestigious position. He appealed for justice for himself and the institution, emphasizing that SWU serves society and has always adhered to honesty and integrity. Spreading false information to discredit the university damages its long-established reputation and honor.
Finally, the SWU rector assured the public that the university remains committed to the philosophy of Professor Dr. Saroj Buasri: “Possess knowledge like a scholar and conduct oneself like a virtuous person.” He confirmed that all administrators operate under principles of good governance with honesty and transparency as a foundation, and there will be no corruption within the university.
