Police Expedite Evidence Collection to Prosecute Genuine Candidate Who Hired Substitute for Disaster Prevention Exam

The Samsen Police Chief revealed that they are urgently gathering evidence to prosecute the genuine 28-year-old candidate who hired a 57-year-old man to take the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department exam, but the substitute was caught by exam supervisors.

On 30 Jun 2026 GMT+7, Police Colonel Kongsak Sarohor, Chief of Samsen Police Station, disclosed the prosecution proceedings against the suspect who took the recruitment exam on behalf of another for the 2026 Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation at the Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University exam center. The suspect, a 57-year-old man, took the exam in place of the 28-year-old candidate and told exam officials upon arrest that he had cancer and had undergone chemotherapy, which changed his appearance.

Exam supervisors were skeptical and conducted identity verification through fingerprint checks against the civil registry database, revealing a mismatch with the registered candidate's information. The exam supervisors and police at the exam site took the impersonator to file a complaint with investigators at Samsen Police Station. The suspect faces two charges: providing false information to officials under Section 137 of the Criminal Code and using another person's ID card under Section 15 of the Identification Card Act B.E. 2526 and its amendments.

During the investigation, the suspect confessed and was granted bail after paying a sum of cash.

Police Colonel Kongsak added that authorities are expanding the investigation and collecting evidence to prosecute the genuine candidate who hired the substitute and others involved in the fraud. Police will summon the hired substitute for further questioning on specific points to proceed with charges against all implicated parties.
