On 1 Jul 2026 GMT+7, reporters reported progress in the murder case of Mr. Uten, also known as “Jia,” after officials managed to recover a plastic container weighted down inside a pond for inspection.

Subsequently, the forensic team conducted an on-site examination inside the container with doctors from the Police Hospital's forensic institute. Upon opening the lid, a strong odor was detected. Officers used an electric saw to cut open the plastic container, breaking three saw blades in the process. Inside, they found cement and what appeared to be human body parts.
Recently, reporters were informed by investigators from Region 1 Police involved in the scene examination that authorities have confirmed a deceased male was found inside the container. However, official identity verification and fact-checking are still ongoing to confirm the victim's identity. Further details will be provided in an official briefing from senior officials.
Initially, at the scene, after using cutting tools to open the container and prying out the cement inside, some parts of the deceased’s body were found dismembered and concealed within. Police, forensic officers, and forensic doctors are conducting detailed examinations and investigations at the scene to collect evidence, confirm the victim’s identity, and determine the cause of death.
