Brutal Son-in-Law Confesses to Stabbing Three Family Members Before Concealing Bodies in Cassava Field

The brutal son-in-law has confessed, claiming he stabbed three family members—a father, mother, and child—then loaded their bodies into a pickup truck and buried them to conceal the crime in the victims' cassava field. Police are currently escorting him from Pattaya back to Phai Sali Police Station.

On 2 July 2026, following the shocking incident of three family members buried in a cassava field in Phai Sali District, Nakhon Sawan Province, the latest update is that Phai Sali Police have mobilized to inspect a cassava field in Samrong Chai Subdistrict, where they found a freshly dug grave emitting a foul odor.

This inspection followed Mr. Phittaya Sita, a son living in a separate house, reviewing CCTV footage from the home of Mr. Huay Sita, approximately 70, Mrs. Tim Sita, about 68, and their daughter. The footage showed that at 9 p.m. on 29 June, the CCTV was non-functional. Upon checking the house, it was silent with suspicious signs: four CCTV cameras had their wires cut, the room door was locked, and a hoe and blanket were missing along with a gray pickup truck.

Subsequently, a social media appeal was made on 30 June to find the missing vehicle, which was spotted in Pathum Thani Province.

Reports confirm that police have arrested the suspect, Mr. Samart, aged 43, in Pattaya, Chonburi Province.

Initial interrogation revealed that Mr. Samart, a former son-in-law who had separated from his ex-girlfriend (one of the victims) for 20 years but resumed contact about two years ago, admitted to stabbing the three family members. He then loaded the bodies into the pickup truck and buried them in the victims' cassava field before fleeing to hide in Pattaya.

Currently, police are escorting Mr. Samart back to Phai Sali Police Station for questioning and to proceed with legal action.
