British Businessman Stabbed to Death at Luxury Home, Found Dead in Bathroom Wife Claims Self-Harm

A British businessman was found stabbed to death at a luxury home in Bang Lamung, Chonburi province. His body was lying on a pillow and covered with a towel inside the bathroom. The wife claimed he injured himself, but police remain unconvinced due to several suspicious details.

At 09:30 on 2 July 2026, Police Sub-Lieutenant Siriyaporn Kongphetsak, Deputy Investigator of Nong Prue Police Station, received a report of a foreigner killed inside a house in Nong Prue subdistrict, Bang Lamung district, Chonburi province. Upon receiving the report, she notified her superiors and, together with the investigative unit, Forensic Science Division 2, Pattaya Tourist Police, the on-duty medical officer, and Sawang Boriboon Thammasathan rescue foundation personnel, proceeded to the scene.

The incident occurred in a luxury housing estate. The single-storey house covers about 80 square wah (320 square meters). In the bathroom attached to the bedroom, near the shower area, the body of Mr. Thomas David, 34, a British national and cannabis farm businessman in Bang Lamung, was found lying on his back with a knife wound under the left nipple. The body was arranged lying on a bedsheet, with a pillow under the head and a gray towel covering the body. The bedsheet was soaked with blood. He had been dead for at least six hours.

Inside the house, dried blood stains were found spread across the floor, along with signs of a struggle. Police also found Ms. Violet, 21, a British national and the victim’s wife, sitting beside the body. She appeared intoxicated, likely from cannabis, with knife cuts on her fingertips. She was speaking repetitively, claiming to suffer from severe depression and panic disorder, and said her husband had harmed himself. She showed them a 50 cm Sparta knife in the kitchen sink, which had been thoroughly cleaned of blood.

Mr. Charlie, 33, a British friend of the deceased and the first person to find the body, said that earlier that morning, a business partner from the United States, who shared cannabis business interests with the victim, called him urgently to come to the victim’s home, suspecting something was wrong. Upon arrival, he entered the house and recorded video evidence. He noticed abnormalities, including extensive blood stains in the living room. He then found the victim’s wife sitting beside her husband’s body in the bedroom bathroom, speaking incoherently and claiming the husband had hurt himself. He immediately called the police and admitted feeling deeply disturbed and unable to accept the incident.

Neighbors reported that the victim and his wife had only moved in about two weeks earlier. During that time, they often heard the couple arguing. On the previous night around 10 p.m., there were loud dog barks from the house, but no one dared to check. At 2 a.m., someone delivered dog food, but no one answered the door. Suspicious, neighbors noted the unusual silence. The next morning, a friend of the victim arrived by car and later learned about the death inside the house, which shocked everyone.

Preliminary information indicates the victim and his wife had rented the house for about two weeks at 85,000 baht per month. The man owned a large cannabis farm on Soi Bang Lamung 14 until the tragic incident occurred.

Police have taken Ms. Violet for detailed questioning and requested forensic officers to examine her fingerprints and DNA. They remain skeptical of her statements due to multiple inconsistencies. Questions arose as to why, if the victim had harmed himself, the wife did not answer phone calls, notify the police, or provide immediate assistance, but instead dragged the body to the bathroom, evidenced by bloodstains leading there. Additionally, the wife appeared heavily intoxicated from cannabis. Police are reviewing the house’s CCTV footage to determine the true cause.

Police Colonel Natthaphon Phongsuksakul, Chief of Nong Prue Police Station, stated that based on the scene investigation and eyewitness accounts, the police believe the victim did not harm himself. Signs of a struggle were found inside the house. Ms. Violet’s statements contradict the evidence. Authorities plan to charge her with “murder” and proceed with legal action.
