Cyber police arrested a sexy influencer who posted links promoting gambling websites, admitting to doing so for more than one year with an average of 10 posts daily on Instagram, earning 300 baht per day. The court sentenced her to 8 months in prison.
On 2 July 2026, Pol. Lt. Gen. Suraphon Prembut, Commander of the Cyber Crime Division, along with Pol. Lt. Gen. Naradet Thiprak, Commander attached to the Royal Thai Police Office, acting at the Cyber Crime Division, ordered Pol. Maj. Gen. Siriwat Deepho, Commander of Cyber Crime Division 1, Pol. Col. Runglert Kanthajan, Chief of Division 1, Cyber Crime Division 1, and Pol. Lt. Chokchai Saengyu, Investigator of Division 1, Cyber Crime Division 1, to arrest Mr. Aranya, or Iris, 21, from Surin Province, for offenses related to online gambling.
The investigation team from Division 1, Cyber Crime Division 1, discovered an Instagram account named aranya_.155 with over 55,000 followers. The account posted stories featuring women dressed in sexy, revealing outfits, accompanied by text inviting people to join online gambling and included links to the website “winsiam88.” Clicking the link directed users to an online gambling site where they could deposit money and gamble for assets, which is illegal.
Further investigation identified the Instagram account owner as Aranya, a sexy transgender influencer. After gathering evidence, authorities issued a summons. Aranya later gave a statement admitting that she was hired to create content promoting this gambling website, posting images with links on her Instagram about 10 times daily for over a year, receiving 300 baht per day as payment.
She was then taken into custody and charged at the Don Mueang District Court with “advertising or directly or indirectly encouraging others to gamble via electronic media without official permission.”
The court sentenced her to 8 months imprisonment but reduced the sentence to 4 months due to her confession, with no suspension of the sentence.
