Cyber police arrested two more online gambling networks in Ranong Province. The suspects relocated their bases to new locations to evade arrest and repeatedly changed their website domain names but were ultimately caught.
On 2 July 2026, Pol. Lt. Gen. Suraphol Prembutr, Commander of the Cyber Crime Division, together with Pol. Lt. Gen. Naradet Thiprak, Commander attached to the Royal Thai Police Headquarters assisting the Cyber Crime Division, and Pol. Maj. Gen. Thinkorn Rangmat, Deputy Commander of the Cyber Crime Division, ordered Pol. Maj. Gen. Sarayut Chunawat, Commander of Cyber Crime Division 2, Pol. Col. Tosak Panklinphut, Superintendent of Division 4, Cyber Crime Division 2, Pol. Lt. Col. Akerin Sonnak, Deputy Superintendent of Division 4, Cyber Crime Division 2, and Pol. Capt. Praphat Somwong, Intelligence Analysis Officer, Division 4, Cyber Crime Division 2, along with Lt. Cmdr. Kukiat Chertsungnoen, Deputy Superintendent, Division 4, Cyber Crime Division 2, to lead a task force to conduct operations targeting online gambling websites in Ranong Province.
The investigative team, with a search warrant from Ranong Provincial Court No. K.29/2569, searched a house in Moo 3, Bang Kaeo Subdistrict, La-un District, Ranong Province, where they arrested 27-year-old Natthakitt Jaidee, seizing one computer and one mobile phone as evidence.
This operation follows government policy and directives from Pol. Gen. Kittirat Phanphet, Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police, instructing the Cyber Crime Division and related agencies to continue cracking down on online gambling networks, especially football betting sites that openly defy the law. Authorities are also urged to monitor and prevent youth involvement in online gambling during the 2026 FIFA World Cup scheduled from 11 June to 19 July 2026.
Previously, on 6 May, the investigative team from Division 4, Cyber Crime Division 2, arrested the administrator of the online gambling network “AM08” based in Bang Non Subdistrict, Mueang Ranong District. Further electronic investigations uncovered links showing that this administrator was also secretly managing two other gambling websites, “club55” and “jaideeplus.”
These two websites have a combined membership exceeding 50,000 users and have operated for over a year, with average monthly transactions surpassing 6 million baht. They secretly offered online gambling services including international football betting, lottery, slots, baccarat, dragon tiger, hi-lo, pok deng, and various other games.
It was found that both websites relocated their operations to a new base in La-un District, Ranong Province, to avoid arrest. Authorities gathered evidence, obtained a search warrant, and arrested Natthakitt along with the seized items. He initially confessed to the charges.
Advanced technical investigations revealed that this gambling network frequently changed its website domain names while maintaining the same customer base to conceal operations and hinder authorities from tracking and apprehending those involved in the illegal activities.
The police charged the suspects with "organizing gambling or making arrangements, advertising, or directly or indirectly inviting others to gamble via electronic media without official permission." They were taken into custody and handed over to Bang Kaeo Police Station for legal proceedings.
