Chief of Police Explains Progress in Local Civil Service Exam Fraud Case, Insists No Inaction

The Chief of Police explained progress in the crackdown on the local civil service exam fraud ring, insisting authorities have not been idle and are requesting time to carefully and thoroughly verify the facts.

On 3 Jul 2024 GMT+7, Pol. Maj. Gen. Natsak Chawanasai, Chief of Police, addressed the progress of the local civil service exam fraud case. He said the fact-finding process is divided into three parts. The first concerns verification under the responsibility of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), but at the same time, the Central Investigation Bureau stands ready to provide support, including data and manpower, if requested.

Pol. Maj. Gen. Natsak added that the third part, which is the responsibility of the Central Investigation Bureau, involves investigating the case where answer sheets were removed from the system for alteration before being reinserted, as reported by the Ministry of Interior’s complaint. The investigation is underway; the police have not been idle. There have been ongoing progress meetings, but to ensure the process is careful and thorough, more time is needed to complete the work.
