A delivery rider stormed his ex-wife's home and shot her and her new partner before turning the gun on himself, resulting in two deaths and one critically injured.
At 14:00 on 5 Jul 2026, Police Lieutenant Colonel Phichitphon Ratchakom, investigation officer of Minburi Police Station, received a report of a shooting incident with multiple casualties at a house in Bang Chan Subdistrict, Khlong Sam Wa District, Bangkok. He informed his superiors before inspecting the scene with Police Colonel Somphot Thongmool, Chief of Minburi Police Station; Police Lieutenant Colonel Nimit Charoenboon, patrol supervisor; investigative officers; forensic team; forensic doctors from the Police Hospital; and volunteers from Ruamkatanyu Foundation.
The scene was a two-story townhouse; the incident occurred on the ground floor in the living room near the bathroom. There, the body of Mr. Rangsarn, 35, was found lying on his right side in a pool of blood, wearing a short-sleeve T-shirt and black shorts, with a gunshot wound to the right temple. Nearby, a .380 caliber magazine pistol was found on the floor.
At the staircase leading to the second floor, the body of Ms. Piyanuch, 36, was found lying on her back in a pool of blood, wearing a black short-sleeve T-shirt and jeans, with a gunshot wound to the right temple. Beside the sofa, Mr. Worachot, 30, lay on his side in a pool of blood with two gunshot wounds to the back of the head, breathing weakly. Rescue workers provided first aid and transported him to Kasemrad Hospital. Four .380 caliber shell casings were found on the floor and collected as evidence.
During questioning, Ms. Nidnoi, 63, the ex-mother-in-law of Mr. Rangsarn, stated that before the incident, Ms. Piyanuch was sitting and talking with Mr. Worachot on the living room sofa. Suddenly, Mr. Rangsarn entered the house claiming he was there to collect items from their daughter's bedroom on the second floor. She followed him upstairs. After retrieving the items, as they came down, Mr. Rangsarn suddenly drew a gun from his shoulder bag and shot Mr. Worachot twice in the back of the head, then shot his daughter once in the temple, before shooting himself. She was so shocked that she was initially unable to react but eventually called the police.
According to reports, Mr. Rangsarn lived with Ms. Piyanuch and had one son. They had settled in Phetchabun Province, where Mr. Rangsarn worked as a delivery rider to support the family. About two to three months prior, he discovered Ms. Piyanuch was secretly seeing Mr. Worachot, which led to violent arguments. Ms. Piyanuch fled to her mother's home (the incident location). Mr. Rangsarn also learned she brought Mr. Worachot to live there immediately. He experienced severe stress and contemplated ending his life several times, but relatives managed to comfort and restrain him.
On the morning of the incident, before it occurred, Mr. Rangsarn's mother, a lottery ticket seller in Phetchabun Province, was preparing to collect her lottery quota at Sanambinam, Nonthaburi Province. Mr. Rangsarn told his mother he planned to travel to Phuket and offered to take his mother and son to pick up the lottery tickets. After completing this, he drove his mother and son to Mo Chit bus terminal and then rushed to the ex-wife's house knowing they were still there, where he carried out the shooting.
The bodies were handed over to Ruamkatanyu Foundation volunteers to be transported to the Police Hospital's Institute of Forensic Medicine for detailed autopsy.
