Progress in the heroin case involving a female flight attendant: authorities have detained "Uthai" and "Nanthawat," two suspects accused of transporting and destroying seized heroin, and sent them for remand. Both remain silent.
At 11:20 a.m. on 6 July 2026, Narcotics Suppression Bureau police detained Mr. Uthai Kanapiwat, 47, and Mr. Nanthawat Yingpattanawong, 47, two suspects in the heroin transport and destruction case linked to the heroin case involving "Meena," a female flight attendant who took heroin to Australia. The officers transferred them from the detention room of the Narcotics Suppression Bureau to the Criminal Court on Ratchadaphisek Road for remand.
Mr. Nanthawat, wearing a face mask, was the first to walk out, followed by Mr. Uthai, who wore a face mask and a hood covering his head.
Reporters tried to question both men about various connections, but both shook their heads and refused to answer before immediately boarding the prisoner transport vehicle.
Authorities arranged the media to stay on one side to clear space for orderly transfer of the suspects into the vehicle. This was necessary because other drug case suspects were also being transported alongside the suspects in the "Meena" flight attendant case.
Mr. Nanthawat is the person who received six heroin-filled elephant bags from Mr. Uthai. These were rejected at Suea Yai Alley on 26 June. Mr. Uthai later retrieved the packages and handed them to Mr. Nanthawat. After learning about "Meena"’s arrest, Mr. Nanthawat contacted Mr. Uthai and was told, "Do whatever you want." Consequently, Mr. Nanthawat decided to destroy the evidence by flushing it down the toilet and cutting the bag into pieces with scissors, then discarding the fragments along Highway 4040, Champa Subdistrict, Tha Ruea District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province.
