Five Police Commanders at Seka Police Station Transferred Following Illegal Nightclub Raid in Bueng Kan with Underage Patrons

The Bueng Kan Provincial Police Chief has transferred five commanders from Seka Police Station and established a fact-finding committee following an incident where the Anti-Human Trafficking Police raided an illegal nightclub and found over fifty youths under 20 years old, the youngest being 13.

On 7 July 2026, at the Bueng Kan Provincial Police Headquarters in Mueang Bueng Kan District, Bueng Kan Province, Governor Suraphon Charoenphum presided over the launch of the “Operation 90 Days: 90-Day Strategy to Eradicate Drugs.” This operation integrates all sectors, including police, local administration, military, and security agencies, to conduct patrols, checkpoints, and intercept drug trafficking.

Bueng Kan Province, bordering the Mekong River, requires intensive surveillance, including targeted searches to suppress drug trafficking networks and identify users for treatment. The goal is a safe community through continuous drug prevention and suppression over 90 days, from 1 July to 30 September 2026, to effectively address drug problems.

The operation involved Major General Sirasan Yuen Sanguanchai, Commander of Bueng Kan Provincial Police; Colonel Siwadol Yaklai, Deputy Director of Provincial Security (Military); the provincial governor's secretary; department heads; district chiefs; police officers; volunteers; security agencies; and relevant authorities.

The Bueng Kan Governor issued six policy directives as operational guidelines: 1. All agencies must closely integrate, share information, and act cohesively; 2. Accelerate investigations, arrests, and legal actions against drug networks, including asset seizures; 3. Tighten border checkpoints, transport routes, and high-risk areas, coordinating among local administration, military, police, customs, and security agencies; 4. Identify drug users for treatment, rehabilitation, and follow-up to reintegrate them into society; 5. Encourage all districts, subdistricts, and villages to participate in surveillance, reporting, and building resilience among youth and residents; 6. Require all officials to perform duties with honesty, transparency, uphold the rule of law, and respect human rights.

He also encouraged personnel from all sectors to perform their duties with strength, caution, and safety to ensure Bueng Kan becomes a secure, peaceful, and drug-free province. Afterwards, he joined relevant agencies in deploying teams to intensify drug suppression and prevention in Bueng Kan Province.
Major General Sirasan Yuen Sanguanchai, Commander of Bueng Kan Provincial Police, stated that the Central Investigation Police Division, under the Anti-Human Trafficking Police Bureau, arrested 27-year-old Apichai for offenses including operating an unlicensed venue, selling alcohol to persons under 20 years old, and enticing minors to behave inappropriately or engage in risky conduct under the Child Protection Act. The arrest occurred at an unlicensed nightclub in Seka Subdistrict, Seka District, Bueng Kan Province, where many under-20 patrons were admitted, and drugs were found on the premises.

The Bueng Kan Provincial Police have established a fact-finding committee and ordered five officers from Seka Police Station to be transferred to assist at the provincial operations center. The deputy police chief responsible for investigation has been tasked to verify whether any officials were involved or negligent regarding the nightclub, to ensure strict legal action is taken.
