Cyber Police Raid E-Cigarette Seller Illegally Supplying Students in Khon Kaen City for 8 Months

Cyber police arrested an e-cigarette seller secretly supplying students in downtown Khon Kaen. She admitted ordering them from the South and making a profit of 50 baht per unit.

On 8 July 2026, Pol. Lt. Gen. Surapol Prembut, Commander of the Cyber Crime Division, along with Pol. Lt. Gen. Naradet Thiprak, Police Commissioner assigned to the Cyber Crime Division, ordered Pol. Maj. Gen. Komkrit Sukthai, Commander of Cyber Crime Division 3, and Pol. Col. Adichart Amornpradit, Head of the Intelligence and Special Tools Unit, Cyber Crime Division 3, to lead a raid arresting Ms. Ploynamphet, 24, from Khon Kaen Province, seizing 112 e-cigarette devices of various brands.

The investigation stemmed from the Cyber Crime Division 3's Intelligence and Special Tools Unit learning that Ms. Ploynamphet had been illegally selling e-cigarettes to the public and students from her residence in Village 12, Si La Subdistrict, Mueang District, Khon Kaen, located near a well-known university. Authorities raided her home and confiscated all the evidence.

During questioning, Ms. Ploynamphet admitted she had been selling e-cigarettes for eight months. She ordered the products from the southern region through the Line app to resell at a profit of 50 baht per unit. Most of her customers were students, youths, and local residents, contacted via the Line application.

She was charged with concealing, selling, transporting, purchasing, pawning, or holding goods known to be untaxed or restricted or prohibited, which had not passed customs, or were imported into the kingdom evading duties, as well as selling or possessing such untaxed goods for sale. She was taken into custody for further legal proceedings.
