Eleven Girls File Complaint Against School Director in Kanchanaburi for Indecent Acts

Paveena led 11 girls aged between 11 and 15, accompanied by their guardians, to file a complaint accusing the school director of indecent acts. Interviews are expected to begin next week. Meanwhile, the girls will temporarily reside at a children's shelter.

On 10 Jul 2026 GMT+7, at the operations center meeting room of the Kanchanaburi Provincial Police Headquarters, Mrs. Paveena Hongsakul, Chairperson of the Paveena Hongsakul Foundation for Children and Women, together with Dr. Arunee Jiramaha-san, Assistant Secretary of the Office of the Basic Education Commission, Mr. Sirisak Kanakupat, legal advisor, Mr. Akkaranan Kankittinan, Deputy Minister of Education, Mr. Pongsaphat Pho-thongkham, Director of the Legal Aid Center of the Kanchanaburi Lawyers Council, and Mr. Wimon Prakobchai, advisor to Deputy Minister Akkaranan, along with Mr. Ekaphap Hongsakul, director of the Paveena Foundation, and the foundation team, brought guardians and 11 female students from grades 5 and 9, aged 11 to 15, from a school in Si Sawat district who were allegedly subjected to indecent acts by the school director. They met with Police Major General Phasawi Ruangphu, Commander of Kanchanaburi Provincial Police, Police Colonel Santat Loyangkul, Police Colonel Jompol Rujiradarmrongchai, Deputy Commanders of Kanchanaburi Police, as well as Police Colonel Manop Namprasanthai, Superintendent of Si Sawat Police Station, and Police Lieutenant Colonel Anas Triperi, Deputy Superintendent (Investigation) of Si Sawat Police Station, to file the complaint.

Deputy Minister of Education Akkaranan Kankittinan assigned legal advisor Mr. Sirisak Kanakupat to represent the victims' side and participate in the proceedings. Also present were Mrs. Chanjira Patanasiri, the Kanchanaburi Provincial Social Development and Human Security officer, social workers from the Children's and Family Shelter of Kanchanaburi, representatives from the Kanchanaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, and related agencies. Police Major General Phasawi Ruangphu confirmed that investigators have already been prepared.

Regarding the interviews with the 11 students, authorities will arrange a suitable venue for questioning, involving a multidisciplinary team comprising prosecutors, investigators, psychologists, social workers, and persons requested by the children to attend. Since all 11 girls are under 18, their mental well-being will be carefully considered. Interviews are expected to begin on Monday, 13 Jul 2026 GMT+7.

At the meeting, concerns were raised about the travel distance for the families and children, exceeding 100 kilometers to meet the multidisciplinary team for questioning. Therefore, Kanchanaburi's social development officers proposed that the 11 girls temporarily stay at the Kanchanaburi Children's and Family Shelter until interviews are completed. Regarding schooling, the Kanchanaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 will arrange instruction to ensure the girls do not fall behind their peers.

Police Major General Phasawi Ruangphu stated that the police have been in continuous contact with the foundation regarding this case. Reports were made to National Police Chief Police General Kittirat Phanphet and Region 7 Police Commander Police Lieutenant General Phisit Tanprasert, who instructed full and fair investigation to protect the children, as the victims are growing into the nation's future.

Since this case involves many victims who are minors, authorities have accepted it as a formal case. They have begun interviewing the children's guardians. The 11 children will be interviewed through the multidisciplinary team. Officials will ensure fairness to all parties and conduct a straightforward investigation. If additional victims come forward during the investigation, police are ready to accept their complaints. Anyone else who has experienced similar acts is encouraged to file reports at any time.

Mrs. Paveena Hongsakul, Chairperson of the Paveena Hongsakul Foundation for Children and Women, said today the foundation brought the affected students to file complaints against the perpetrator, following the guardians' wishes. Due to the number of victims and their ages, interviews must be conducted via the multidisciplinary team, starting next week. Regarding disciplinary actions against the accused school director, the Ministry of Education, through the Kanchanaburi Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, will proceed accordingly. The conduct is considered cruel to the children and their families. The Ministry of Education's Center for Rights, Freedom, and Safety will also take further action.
