"Criminal Court" denies bail Mr. Aekwit or "Rinrin" the courier who sent a bag concealing heroin; the court noted the offense is part of a criminal process with severe penalties and a risk of flight.
On 11 July 2026, reports stated that at the Criminal Court on Ratchadaphisek Road, after narcotics suppression police detained Mr. Aekwit, who uses the name "Rinrin" as the person sending an elephant-patterned bag concealing heroin to Mr. Uthai, or a man wearing a blue hoodie, to pass on to "Air Mina" he was brought to the Criminal Court for detention on charges of jointly participating in a transnational criminal organization and jointly possessing Category 1 narcotics (heroin) for illegal distribution. The court authorized the detention.
Later, Mr. Aekwit filed a bail request. After consideration, the Criminal Court ordered the request denied, noting the large amount of evidence, the offense involving a criminal process, and the severe penalties. The court believed that granting bail would likely lead to flight and thus rejected the request.
