Ex-Husband Fires 10 Shots, Killing Former Wifes Boyfriend and Severely Wounding Her Suspect Has Military Background in Ratchaburi

A grieving mother told her 19-year-old son not to get out of the car, but he did not survive. The ex-husband of his girlfriend fired 10 shots, killing him. The mother pleaded with police to arrest the suspect, who has a military background in Ratchaburi province.

On 12 Jul 2016, Udomsuk Police Station received a report of a man shot dead in Soi Chalermprakiat Rama 9, Soi 30, Intersection 28, Dokmai Subdistrict, Prawet District, Bangkok, in the late afternoon.

At the scene, the victim was identified as Mr. Feem, 19, who was shot multiple times in the head, neck, and chest. A woman, Ms. Tan, 36, his girlfriend, was also shot in the chest, shoulder, and abdomen, seriously injured, and had been taken to the hospital by rescue workers earlier.

Later that evening, Police Colonel Chisanupong Suriyanon, Superintendent of Udomsuk Police Station, along with forensic officers, arrived to inspect the crime scene.

The news team spoke with Mrs. Waraporn, 42, the victim's mother, who recounted that at around 6 p.m., she was bathing her dog at home while her son had just gone to pick up his girlfriend from a nearby factory. Her son parked the car beside the house with his girlfriend inside.

Then, Mr. Golf, the ex-husband of Ms. Tan, arrived in a black Mazda and parked in front of the house, rolling down his window but saying nothing. Meanwhile, her son called her to ask what to do. She told him to stay inside the car and not come out for safety.

Shortly after, she heard dozens of gunshots. When she came out to check, she found her son dead inside the car and Ms. Tan seriously wounded, who was then rushed to the hospital.

Mrs. Waraporn said Mr. Golf was Ms. Tan's ex-husband, known to serve in the military in Ratchaburi province. They had divorced long ago before Ms. Tan began dating her son. She never expected such a brutal killing. Her son was only 19 and had not yet lived his life. She urged police to quickly arrest the perpetrator.

The news team also spoke with Mr. Meng, owner of the factory where the deceased and injured worked. The man was a lathe operator and the woman was a factory administrator. The motive was believed to be jealousy, as Ms. Tan had previously been married and registered with Mr. Golf, who was in the military accounting department in Ratchaburi. They divorced two years ago without known conflicts.

Ms. Tan then started dating Mr. Feem, the deceased. Despite their age difference, they appeared to be happy, with no signs of threats or disputes from the ex-husband seeking reconciliation.

Before the divorce, Mr. Golf regularly picked up Ms. Tan from the factory. Outwardly, he did not seem hot-tempered but was known to carry a gun at all times. No one expected an incident of this nature to occur.

Police Colonel Chisanupong Suriyanon, Superintendent of Udomsuk Police Station, expressed his support and confirmed he had ordered investigators to pursue the suspect, setting up checkpoints to intercept him. He promised to arrest and prosecute the perpetrator as soon as possible.
