Sergeant First Class Shoots Ex-Wife and Her Companion, One Dead and One Critically Injured Surrenders to Police Citing Mental Distress

Sergeant First Class shot his ex-wife, critically injuring her, and killed her close companion in the Prawet area before fleeing. He later surrendered to Ban Pong police station, admitting to losing control after seeing disturbing scenes, despite having divorced two years ago.

In the incident, Sergeant First Class Natthaphon Chanprasert, 37, from Ratchaburi province, went to the home of his ex-wife, Ms. Intira Kham-aek, 36, in Soi Chalermphrakiat Rama 9, 30 Yak 28, Dokmai subdistrict, Prawet district, Bangkok. There, he found her with Mr. Ratthaphum, or Film, 19, a close male companion. Driven by jealousy, he drew a firearm he carried in his bag and fired repeatedly at both, emptying the magazine. Mr. Ratthaphum died at the scene, while Ms. Intira was critically injured. The suspect then fled. The incident occurred in the evening of 12 July, as previously reported.


The latest update: At 20:00 on 12 July 2026, Sergeant First Class Natthaphon Chanprasert went to Ban Pong police station in Ratchaburi province, his hometown, to surrender to Deputy Superintendent (Investigation) Wirot Charoenjai. He was accompanied by relatives and brought the 9mm Glock pistol used in the crime as evidence.

The suspect confessed to committing the shooting due to jealousy. Although he had been divorced from his ex-wife for over two years, seeing the distressing scenes caused him to lose control. He approached and fired more than 15 rounds at both individuals before fleeing back home to compose himself and deciding to surrender.

Initially, authorities detained the suspect and coordinated with the Ratchaburi forensic team to collect gunpowder residue and gather evidence. They also contacted Udomsuk police station, the jurisdiction where the incident occurred, to take custody of the suspect and proceed with legal action.
