Metropolitan Police Drug Center Selects 3 Outstanding Police Stations for Drug Prevention and Suppression

Deputy Commissioner Pol Maj Gen Theeradej Thammasuthi, Deputy Commander of the Metropolitan Police Bureau and Deputy Director of the Metropolitan Police Drug Suppression Center, revealed that the Metropolitan Police Drug Center selected three outstanding police stations for drug prevention and suppression in 2025 to boost morale and encourage the officers involved.

The Health Department's Office of Drug Prevention and Treatment organized a project to promote drug prevention and problem-solving efforts within Bangkok. This aimed to enhance the momentum of drug control operations and raise awareness of public participation and cooperation among relevant agencies. Consequently, the 'Bangkok United Against Drugs' event was scheduled for Tuesday, 21 Jul 2026, at the Prince Palace Hotel Mahannak in Pom Prap Sattru Phai District, Bangkok.

Therefore, the Metropolitan Police Bureau was tasked with selecting six outstanding metropolitan police stations: three excelling in drug prevention and three excelling in drug suppression. These stations will receive plaques as awards and encouragement to continue their duties.

The Metropolitan Police Bureau instructed regional police commands 1 through 9 to select police stations with outstanding drug prevention and suppression performance. These selections were reviewed by the Metropolitan Police drug committee to choose stations for recognition plaques and to publicize effective practices for the benefit of other units at the event.

On Monday, 13 July 2026, at 13:30, Pol Lt Gen Siam Boonsom, Commander of the Metropolitan Police Bureau and Director of the Metropolitan Police Drug Suppression Center, assigned Pol Maj Gen Theeradej Thammasuthi, Deputy Commander of the Metropolitan Police Bureau and Deputy Director of the Drug Suppression Center, to chair the selection committee. Committee members included Pol Col Worapot Rungkrajang, Deputy Commander of the Metropolitan Police Investigation Bureau and Assistant Secretary of the Drug Suppression Center; Pol Col Sitthipong Watsarakit, Deputy Commander of the Metropolitan Police Administration Bureau and Assistant Secretary; as well as deputy commanders from regional police commands 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, and 9, and the Metropolitan Police Patrol and Special Operations Division.
